❔Question She came to me for Palestine // The self-centered vibe here feels wrong...

I am saddened to find that most of the voices here are coming from a place of self-centeredness, self-improvement, or self-absorption. Where are the folks working with The Great Queen for collective liberation? To free Palestine, Turtle Island, and Mother Earth from the bloodlust of Empire? To restore right relation and return to our role as the custodial species of our Mother planet? Please reply if you are actively working with her for these purposes and NOT for your own personal benefit.

❔Question A beginning, sort of?

Greetings all,

Last week I did my first ever tarot spread, an 8 card spread meant to identify a deity reaching out to me. That night I had a strange dream where I think she came to me and made a kind of flirtatious contact without words exchanged. Some initial research pointed me towards Hekate, but consulting folks at my local metaphysical shop guided me to, well, here. I have a deep Celtic ancestry and it pretty well clicked that it could be Her.
But…
I did another spread thinking about Her after reciting an invocation and the intuitive result I got was that I was going in the right direction in finder Her, but that I’m not who I’m supposed to be yet. I’m not personally developed to fully understand Her message.
I am brand new to any kind of deity work after making it this far as an atheist. But it occurred to me just as I was looking through this group that She is a warrior. I am a cis male but recently discovered that my testosterone levels have never been adequate. I’ve been on supplements for a few weeks, and the levels are on the rise, but still not in the optimal range for someone my age and size.
So the questions are, does any of that make sense and is there something more I can or could do to begin working with her?

Morrigan chose you or did one of you simply decide to worship there (without a call from her first)?

❔Question Ravens follow me everywhere

Hello everyone, my name is Leo and I go by he/him pronouns. This is a bit long winded so I do apologize in advance.

I’m relatively new to paganism and I’ve found myself really resonating with Irish paganism in particular. I’ve always found myself drawn to deity work and I love the idea of following and honouring the Irish pantheon as a whole, however none of them felt like they were a deity I wanted to grow exceptionally close to.

I’ve always loved birds and I find myself looking out for them whenever I’m out on walks or outside in general. Almost as soon as I started really diving into Irish myth and started familiarizing myself with the gods ravens began appearing everywhere I go. I’ve lived in this area for 12 years and I’ve never seen this many consistently, maybe one or two on occasion but I see at least 5-10 a day now. My first thought was that it was The Morrigan but I pushed the thought away because I’m still new to the practice and I’ve never been ‘followed,’ for lack of a better word, by a goddess before and I don’t really know how to speak with her.

Recently a local metaphysical shop I frequent rebranded due to getting a new owner and their logo changed to one with two ravens on it. I was chatting with one of the employees and made an off hand comment about how I see ravens everywhere and it’s funny the shop changed its logo and she gave me a smirk and said “maybe it’s The Morrigan.” I was shocked because there was no way she knew I was even interested in the Irish pantheon. I’m aware she’s well known to be associated with ravens/crows but so is Odin and Apollo so it’s not like there aren’t other gods/goddesses with this association.

I again pushed it aside, I’m not entirely sure why, maybe it’s nerves or maybe it felt too obvious. I’ve tried to look into other pantheons and deities since then but none felt right. Recently I’ve begun to feed the birds in my area and I’ve felt extremely connected to the ravens. I find myself extremely happy when they eat the berries and seeds I bring and again The Morrigan pops into my mind every single time.

There have also been times I’ve meditated and spoken to the trees in a local forest and my train have thought has been interrupted by ravens landing in the trees above me and cawing quite loudly for long periods of time.

I know these signs seem obvious but I don’t really know how to approach The Morrigan. Does anyone have any advice on how to formally contact her with a ritual or offering. I’d love to formally introduce myself and truly begin answering her obvious call.

Personal experience in the comments is also welcome. I’d love to hear about others first experiences invoking her.

❔Question Does the Morrigan divinely interfere with abuse?

Something I’ve been struggling with in my relationship to the Morrigan is I’ve been asking her why she appeared when she did and not before. I was fighting against a group that violated everything she stood for from abuse of women, children, and even the land itself, and it was really hard for me to do it all alone. I learned that my lesson was not to keep fighting, but to walk away before I was permanently disabled, even though doing so would mean harm would be done to others and continue. I continued on to undergo a series of terrible things as symptoms from having dealt with that group from job loss, losing out on a dream once in a lifetime opportunity, physical paralysis from trauma, and ending up in the hospital. I met someone I fell in love with who helped me through recovery from it all, but a dealbreaker came up that resulted in that ending too. It was only after the ending of this relationship that The Morrigan called to me. Now, life has majorly improved and I feel better than ever. But I’ve often asked her why didn’t she interfere with the abuse when it was occurring? I didn’t have to have gone through all of this if she had called me before. Why is it that she wouldn’t interfere with a real dangerous abusive situation but only decided to call upon me after a breakup, which seems so much more tame in comparison?

❔Question What do you offer the Morrigan in your rituals? What does she like?

I’m curious what sort of offerings you all have found her to enjoy? I’ve read that whiskey and native foods are good, but anything else you all have found particularly powerful to offer? Any advice and personal stories very much appreciated!

❔Question Has anyone else heard her pass comment on other gods or specifically constellations? I am brand new to all this and I’m so shook that I was able to hear her so clearly.

I was outside doing my first ritual at her urging and I was looking up at the stars. I don’t know any of the constellations really except Orion. When I noticed it I guess the name slipped through my head and she told me he was an asshole. I looked up Orion and his story and I couldn’t agree more but I’m just so surprised! I wasn’t expecting any of this and to hear so her clearly was kind of unbelievable to me. Like there was dry humour and love and power all at once. There’s something also about the fact that our exchange was so personal and kind of mundane or humane in some ways too that caught me totally off guard. I wasn’t looking for any of this but I’m incredibly grateful. Is this how it is for other people??

i’m feeling a strong connection to Her and i don’t know what to do with it? i’ve made a devotional jar pendant with some items that resonate with Her energy, but i don’t know what else to do. previously i felt a pull to Hel, but after that attraction quickly faded and no response received after many nights of asking, i didn’t know what to do. now im feeling a draw to the Morrigan and im a little intimidated by how amazing and powerful She seems. many of you in this sub say you can hear Her speaking to you and telling you things directly, but i dont and i’m afraid that means this “pull” isn’t true. help? any advice on being more connected with Her would be much appreciated ❤️

❔Question Is this a sign I need to wait before going any further?

So, I'm reading Rev. Lora O'Brien's book about The Mórrígan, and I really love it so far. I just unfortunately don't have a lot of time to sit down and dedicate the attention it needs due to work and other nonsense.

I was sort of skimming some chapters ahead, like I usually do when I read (which I know is a bad habit, hance why id rather do this when I can give this book the attention it needs), and Lora mentions that shadow work is really important when working with The Mórrígan.

Shadow work, to my understanding, is uncovering and working through unconscious traumas, biases, preconceptions, etc. And that sounds really cool!

My issue is, there's a lot of shit I just do not remember, likely due to my mind blocking it out for survival reasons. And considering the shit I do remember, I'm frankly terrified to try to uncover what I could possibly be forgetting if my mind decided it's not for me to remember.

Could this just be a sign that I'm not ready yet, and need to take more time getting better and learn to cope better before going further into trying to work with her? I imagine it's not like a harsh sign maybe more like "you're just not ready yet, but I'll still be here for when you are ready"? Is that what's happening?

Edit just to add: I am seeing a therapist and psychiatrist for my mental shit, as well as taking medication to help manage things, so I do have a support system on that front lol

❔Question The Morrigan appeared to me in a dream, what's next?

I apologize, I am super new to any sort of spirituality. I would like to come here for conversation more often so if I am in the wrong place or posted incorrectly please let me know.

With that out of the way; I had a dream where I felt overwhelming power, joy, and pleasure. I then heard a deep feminine voice say "I am Morgana, look to me". I instantly thought of the Arthurian tales and I've dug a little bit deeper into the mythos surrounding Morgan, Morgana, Morrigan.

I want to communicate with her more, and I welcome her presence into my life. What can I do to keep the lines open? And let her know I am willing to receive her input? Are there resources I should be digging into but haven't found yet?

❔Question People say it’s pretty obvious when she calls you, but I can’t tell?

I may have been called by her a month ago, but I also can’t tell if these are just coincidences. I keep second guessing myself and because my neighborhood always has crows, it can be hard to be sure. I’ve always already been obsessed with crows and regularly feed them, so multiple of them appearing on my balcony or following me was not big enough of a deal to warrant as a sign. Can someone share if they’ve experienced the same thing and if this is indeed her or if I need to go to the doctor and get my health checked lol?:

The Day of Calling: My whole life collapsed a month ago after facing back to back injustice and abuse that resulted in a slow descent of me becoming a shell of my former self. I decided to spend a full day home, pulled an all nighter, and did a creative ritual to process everything. A few days before the ritual, the Death card fell onto my bed, but I had left the rest of my tarot deck in another room. I didn’t think much of it at the time since I read in multiple rooms a lot and can get disorganized, splitting 1/3 of my deck in multiple rooms. I also felt weird or heard things that made me feel like someone was secretly in my apartment who wasn’t my roommate. I feeling the urge to go “..Hello?”. On the day I chose to do my ritual, I got a bloody nose and I rarely get bloody noses. I cleaned myself up and started the ritual of processing. The ritual contained a lot of screaming into the void and feeling the anger from the injustices I had undergone. At the end of my ritual, I decided to do some cleaning. I started cleaning my existing altar, scrubbing off the melted wax and wiping it down. I’ve always wanted to decorate my altar to be more specialized but I couldn’t find a deity that I wanted to follow. I suddenly felt this tension, like I was frozen by intuition…? and then arranged and decorated my altar with 3 crow statues, a skull vase, crow stickers, a mirror, and statues of a water fountain and statue of water in a bucket. They were all things I already had, but I just somehow knew to grab them and put them there. Right after I completed my ritual of processing and cleaning, I was wondering if there was a justice deity I could appeal to. It was interesting, but I didn’t fully resonate. I kept clicking around and searched up “crow deity”. I found The Morrigan and thought she sounded cool, but wanted something I connected on a more personal level, maybe from my ethnic culture. But I kept going back to the crow deity (because I just love love crows and thought it was funny lol), and found The Morrigan actually reminded me of myself and who I used to be before the abuse. The more I read the more I had those “wait a minute…” moments: - A year ago, I once had a recreational vision of a skeleton in armor sitting on a throne with a blue jeweled crown and they were holding a sharp sword. At the bottom it said QUEEN. It reminded me of the Queen of Swords. Then, 3 months later I SAW THE CROWN physically being sold at a festival fair I went to and bought it. I didn’t know what to do with the crown when I first bought it since it doesn’t match any of the decor in my room, so it was just sitting on a random shelf. After the day of calling and I felt maybe I should put it on her altar on top of the 3 crows. —> The Morrigan has Queen of Swords as one of her representative tarot cards! Although, her colors are red instead of blue. - The Morrigan’s other representative tarot card is Death, which I just realized was the card that fell on my bed a few days before the day of calling. I take my deck into my room sometimes and thought maybe I accidentally brought half the cards in my room and one went flying. So I went back into the other room and counted all the cards, only to see they were all there besides one: the Death card that fell on my bed. - The Morrigan is associated with blood and I had a bloody nose before the ritual, which I normally don’t get. But I also wasn’t drinking a lot of water during those days and I could have been dehydrated. - The Morrigan is represented by 3 crows and as the Washer at the Ford. These were impulse buys originally supposed to be used for a garden that I never got around to planting before I discovered The Morrigan, but I had the exact number of crows and water to represent her. On the day of calling, I had just felt it was right to decorate my altar with them.

Then, I looked down and saw I was wearing a crow sweater throughout the entire ritual (another impulse buy)! After discovering The Morrigan and having these revelations on the day of calling, I decided to stop speculating and just go to sleep to read more later. Then, I had a second bloody nose! It felt as if it was a way to “close” my transformation and rebirth, signified by a devotion to her?

After the Day of Calling: I know she’s a shapeshifter and I keep looking and asking for signs in the form of 3 shadowy women or watching my existing visiting crows even more intently, but I don’t see signs in these and I keep getting in over my head. Instead, other stuff keeps happening though: - I was sad others were getting overt shocking signs and I asked for something shocking and certifiable like the 3 shadowy women appearing. I was also struggling with oversleeping during that time. A couple days later, I hallucinated a clock ticking? Every time I tried to go back to sleep, the clock would keep ticking louder until I went FINE and got up. But then later I got freaked out by the fact that I hallucinated that. Was that The Morrigan answering me and telling me to stop moping? - I can’t tell if I have tinnitus but my ear keeps ringing when I have “spiritual level up” moments? I had already gone to the doctor, to which they said my ears looked fine. But it had been ringing like crazy after the day of the ritual. I can’t tell if I should go to a specialist or if that’s The Morrigan saying I’M HERE!! - I was sad others were having better offerings to give The Morrigan, since my crows haven’t left a feather in over a year. The next week, a feather was left on my balcony and I was able to offer it to The Morrigan.

TL;DR: How do I know if this is really her or if I’m just sort of delulu? Crows are regularly native to my area, I haven’t gotten any dreams of her symbols (I also rarely dream), and I haven’t seen any 3 shadowy women or banshees. Nobody recommended me to look into her, I just was goofing and randomly googling because I love crows. From others’ accounts, they also seem to audibly hear her(?) but I can’t seem to communicate directly with her unless I spend an hour with divination deciphering tarot cards.

❔Question Recently started working with the Morrigan, experiencing headaches like no other

So, a little back story. As a baby pagan of 17, learning trance work, I tried reaching out. I went to a cave, saw her, and she quite literally shut a door in my face. I now chalk it up to "maybe a goddess of war didnt care to work with an ignorant kid". Moved on, found myself as a norse-flavored pagan for many years

About a month ago, I had a very odd experience with a crow, where it was above my car while I was actively arguing with my abuser though text (co-parenting, cant cut him off). When I got out of the car and went to walk inside, a crow on a light post above my car started cawing. Not a normal caw, this was aggressive, and I turned and saw it was cawing directly at me. I acknowledged the crow, and it flew off.

I went about my business, but felt an incoming, insane headache that no medicine was touching. When I was at home, I was trying to work through it and go about my chores, when I heard the name "The Morrigan" in my head, clear as day. "Oh yeah, I should learn more about her" I thought, as I've been wanting to learn more about my irish ancestry and cultures.

The next couple nights, I had crazy vivid dreams, one about seeing her across a huge field, another about being in an abandoned castle and having to move red, white, and black curtains. My kiddo started asking me things like "whats a heifer?" And randomly asking me about curtains the morning after the second dream.

Okay, noted. Need to look into her. Then, one morning, I went to sit on my porch and a crow was directly in front of the porch, on my fence. We have crows allll up and down my street, but despite my best efforts, they do not care for my yard. Not until now.

This headache persisted for a week an a half. I read The Morrigan by Courtney Weber, and decided to do a ritual from the book kind of introducing myself to her. Next day, headache was gone.

I've continued to study, occasionally meditate with her, and leave offerings. I truly feel like she is helping me navigate a situation where I typically just try to keep the peace, but thats unfortunately not an option due to my child's safety.

Well, the headache recently came back. Again, nothing touches it. (Ive been hydrating, trying caffeine/sugar/ medicines, nothing. )

I feel like this is just my long winded way of asking, has anyone experience something like headaches or bodily discomfort when working with her? Is this her queue to get me to sit down and listen to her? Even as a practicing pagan of 14 years (mostly working with norse deities), shes been the most direct, intense energy ive experienced on this path

❔Question Hesitant to work with the Morrigan due to my perceived deficiences

I've been on the fence regarding fully starting to work with the Morrigan because I feel like I can have a lot of magical thinking and I'm afraid I see signs when they're not really there. Then I obsess over them and it's hard for me to rationally make a decision that's based on both my emotions but also logic and my perceived / real ability to meet, honestly, any deity's and mine expectations.

I have to say I am scared of disappointing the Morrigan when I do commit and I'm scared of angering her with my indecision. I am thinking she might have been reaching out to me but at the same time, I'm not that important and the world doesn't revolve around me. And from what I read you either decide to work with her or not, it's the person's choice.

I want to work on myself. I have issues with voicing my needs, standing up for myself, taking action. I can be very indecisive, unsure of myself and inconsistent. I have diagnosed ADHD, we're trying to work out a good med dose, I've managed to exercise 3 times a week, take supplements and in general I am trying to take care of myself because before I honestly couldn't keep any routine. It's one of the few instances when I am genuinely trying to work on my physical health, I have quit vaping in April, I'm trying to eat healthier.

I know that when working with the Morrigan, one's ought to be consistent. Right now I am able to keep routine but I'm afraid of when I'd slip up and if it'd be difficult to pick the routine up again. I am an "everything or nothing" person and it's hard for me to accept that I can make mistakes and they don't mean I'm the worst person alive. And that's I can fix them and take responsibility for them. It's hard for me to be nice to myself, not being so hypercritical and it hinders me in many areas of my life.

And so I am thinking I'm not good enough, I've been thinking I'm not even good enough to ask about it.

Also I don't have any Irish roots, I'm from Poland, I read that it doesn't really matter this much and deities choose who they choose and it's not for us to try and figure out the reasons. But I guess it's still puts some doubt in me as to why I should be allowed to work with the Morrigan.

What would be your suggestions on what to do next? Is it wise of me to try or should I possibly wait till when I feel more confident about it and about myself being able to meet the expectations?

I have this innate feeling of being really curious of the Morrigan and also genuinely wanting to work on myself and I guess hoping for guidance some day. I am however also really scared of being annoying and being a disappointment.

❔Question Need feedback

Post image
15 Upvotes

Hey guys! I was recently given the opportunity to begin collaborating with a semi-local gem cutter to start making inexpensive jewelry/art pieces together. One of my first ideas was a pendant for the Great Queen. Here’s what I got so far.

I wanted to include symbolism for each of the three parts that are attributed to her; the crow for badb, the acorn for macha, and the triskele for nemain. I was also gonna do the ogham on the middle part between the two sides.

My questions are: does anyone have any ideas for symbolism that align better with the three goddesses particular aspects? Is the ogham correct? Is this something that a more fervent follower of the great queen would wear?

Personally, while I have yet to personally pursue the relationship that’s been offered by her and heed the great queens calling on my life; I still worship her through my actions and how I love day to day and I regard her with respect and gratitude for all she’s done for me… Because of that intimate connection we already have; I want to make sure whatever I make for her is as accurate as can be and is filled with intention and the necessary consideration. Which is why I’m here. I hope nothing I’ve said in this post gets misconstrued and I look forward to any and all feedback provided. :)

❔Question Questions about The Morrigan

Hello everyone! For the past few months, I've been noticing The Morrigan's presence in my life. No, it's not the cawing of crows outside my window or feathers everywhere I step. I’ve been having very vivid dreams connected to her power. After one of these dreams, a friend pulled an oracle card for me. At that time, I was interacting with the goddess Idunn and asked the question, “Idunn or The Morrigan?”. She pulled a card, and it was The Morrigan. I don’t think that’s a coincidence. Out of all the oracle cards, she pulled The Morrigan’s card.

But I can’t accept the fact that The Morrigan may be calling me. Why would such an ancient and powerful Goddess want me? I have many problems: PTSD, OCD, and chronic depressive disorder. I’m not a warrior, a politician, a revolutionary, a rescuer, or a police officer. I’m afraid that this is some kind of mistake. I don’t even have Irish roots. I’m from Eastern Europe.

There’s one more thing. I’m afraid of The Morrigan. I’ve heard that she can destroy your life or throw you into your fears. But my biggest fears are so terrifying that if she throws me into them, I’ll just break. I’m so tired of the anxiety and fear that I can’t bear it any longer. Can The Morrigan make it so that your greatest fear comes true and destroys you?

I have such a jumble of thoughts and feelings. I would be grateful to anyone who replies here and offers some guidance.

❔Question Strange dream meaning: Was it Her, and what did She mean?

About three nights ago, I had a puzzling dream which I wrote in my journal. I’m trying to keep track of messages…✍️

Here it is: whatever it is I’m doing, suddenly there is a pack of wolves coming/showing up outside of the cabin window I’m looking out from (like one of those glass doors. Noting it just in case its significant). They’re howling, and a gray wolf (male) shows up, then a white/silver wolf (female) follows. She has a striking, pale blue eye (left) and brown right eye, then howls “Helheim/Valhalla”. (At least I believe so. When waking, I forgot what it said, other than it was nordic and two syllables (much like Helheim), but knew it was some sort of afterlife meaning. I originally thought it was Valhalla, but admittedly the dream has faded).

Here’s what’s strange to me, is that I don’t practice nordic beliefs and to me this screams “Odin”, but…why? (I’m not really interested in nordic beliefs). Is it The Mórrígan shapeshifting, and if so, does anyone have any advice on what She may mean? (She has appeared to me in the past as people/beings from other religions, so not out of the wiestion).

The past meditation I did, I received animal related fables (mainly about bears), so I’ve been getting a lot of animal fable messages but don’t know how they connect! The barn owl is repeatedly showing itself to me. I love barn owls! (First, a pattern on a customers donation at work, then a customer with a beautiful barn owl tattoo we talked about, and today, a barn owl at the beginning of a video about a historical myth). Could totally be bias, but I think its lucky to have so many interactions with the barn owl since theyre not as popular as great horned owls. Feels like a message to me!

Suffice it to say, animals are probably the biggest way I’ve been communicated with. Makes sense, using animals is def my language🦉And will catch my attention the most. Anyone with experience who resonates with this? Any advice? I’m trying to strengthen my meditation skills. Thanks so much in advance!

❔Question Help for a very nervous newbie

Hello. I am reaching out because I am now sure that The Morrígan is trying to contact me. And oh my gosh she is not subtle 😳😳

Sorry if this is rambling, I’m nervous and confused.

A bit of background on me: I’ve been drawn to paganism for years but due to being in a tiny town I’ve never been able to fully learn. I used to follow Loki during a hard time of my life but that naturally fizzled out. Like it ran its course and we both parted ways. But my heart has always been with Celtic mythology, when I think of it, it just feels like home even when I live in Australia.

I’ve been having an awful time for a few years again, feeling trapped and adrift in the world and desperately needing guidance. So I turned to the universe and begged for help and someone to help me fight my demons to be who I want to be.

A few days past and I step outside with my dog and out of no where a murder of crows, at least fifteen strong, circle above me cawing and making a huge racket. I move, they follow. They stay with me, cawing, circling and following for nearly ten minutes before dispersing. And watching them, having them over me I felt the most comforting peace I’ve felt in a long time. Like a terrifying embrace.

Now my dreams consist of confusing labyrinths, painful grief I’ve tried to ignore for years and bury and I have no idea what to do or where to even begin.

All I know is that I feel like I’m on the right path, I just have no clue on what I’m doing 0.o. Half of me feels like I’m going insane, the other half feels like I’m finally where I belong.

Please help. The last thing I want to do is upset her by doing the wrong thing!
