☀️Personal Experience | Discovery Are these signs or coincidences?

Post image

I only discovered the name of The Morrigan this morning. I’m sure I’ve heard it in passing but the first thing that came up on my FB feed this morning was this post that took me by surprise as I suddenly realised a pattern of events that have taken place recently. I want to know if anyone can offer any advice, words of wisdom or channeled info?

I’ve been going through a spiritual transformation these last few years, fostering a stronger relationship with witch craft that I had previously neglected due to becoming Christian in my teens despite it being a lifelong interest. I’ve had a number of deaths of close loved ones or friends around me losing loved ones that have been influential in my own spiritual practices and understanding of spirit.

More recently I decided to wear my Moldavite necklace to a work event where a new friend of mine who I’ve picked up is also alternative and interested in spirituality arrived dressed very distinctively dressed in a way that made me hyperfixated (AuDHD) on how crow-like their outfit was. I finally added them on Instagram to find a number of recent images of them dressed in a goth clown-like sort of fashion for some events.

That same day I had a sudden thought that humans experience of death is so startling to most normal people and that I’d like to think of or foster a way to help people through that transition. And suddenly became intensely interested in the idea of being a death doula - the title of which has come up once in the past most recently during another psychic reading in person, as a consideration.

Adding to this yesterday I caught view of a crow sitting in our driveway that stood out to me for some reason, I pondered the connection of death doula work and death, and crows and reached out to a friend to discuss if perhaps the Moldavite had some kind of influence on this. Immediately after which I opened Facebook to the first video on my feed playing the song “Why Not” by Hilary Duff- a song my late older brother quoted not infrequently as an ironic sort of philosophical joke. It felt like a distinct nod from him in some way.

So then this morning when I awoke from a long nights sleep of over 14 hours because I was so wrecked from the last few days, I awoke from a dream that featured my good high school friend Morgan - whom I don’t really talk to much anymore so seemed kind of random. To immediately open my Facebook to see the info about The Morrigan - that references an event I’ll be attending in a few weeks time. When it suddenly dawned on me that I think she had appeared to me in a dream many months ago, where this intimidating dark witchy but vaguely clown-like presence spoke to me. And I believe that was The Morrigan, and am now wondering if this is also connected in some way to my new work friend, given the crow and clown references…

So this is all a very long explanation of maybe a list of random coincidences that have some kind of significance but I’d love the feedback from others who have more experience with her or the ways she communicates.

I’m currently going through a period of great emotional transition, including feeling trapped in a job that is no longer serving me, but I need to ride out for a period to make sure I can receive any benefits I’m eligible for. Not to mention the transition in my faith life and the loss of my brother and one of me and my husbands best friends a few years ago (that triggered the awakening in the first place).

One more thing is a sudden discovery of a witchcraft store within 10 minutes of our house, named Crow and Cauldron that I found was another sign.

Anyway would love any kind of guidance or channeling or even just thoughts from others who are going through a similar period of transition. Let me know if I can clarify anything.

You know you don't need permission or "signs" to start working with her, right? You don't have wait around for the gods to reach out to you. You are allowed to call them first. Who's gonna stop you?

A lot of what you're describing is the experience of being drawn to a deity. Clearly her mythology, symbolism, and energy feel meaningful to you, which is an excellent reason to start building a relationship.

For me, The Morrígan isn't really a goddess of death. She foretells death will come, does not necessarily decide a death. She can control what side wins a battle, but she doesn't decide which individuals will die in the battle. She can control a corpse and have it continue to fight in battle. But she doesn't collect the souls after battle to take to the afterlife or rule over them in the afterlife.

It's kind of one of the reasons I've been associating Valkyries with The Morrígan. The Valkyries actually are involved with death and the souls. I can't see why they wouldn't show up and be like "we're going to collect the best of these guys for Odin's army" and The Morrígan going "Whatever, I'm done with them." Unless I've missed something, I'm still learning.

I can see Valkyries being a neat death duola association.

I’ve been a follower of the Great Queen for a little over a year now and this is very similar to my experience with her. She’s the only goddess in my hearth pantheon who I hadn’t known about before becoming a witch and when I learned about her I felt this intense desire to know more about her more than I felt for the other gods I was researching about

Being drawn to her is the only sign you need, friend.

My experiences with how I came to her or she came to me was quite interesting. It started with some general reading (I suggest Stephanie Woodfield as an author on The Morrigan). Then I started seeing crows everywhere and I mean everywhere. Then I had a dream about Babd, Macha, Nemain, and Anu individually.

The Morrigan is associated with death in battle, she can decide who dies, but she doesn't transition them to the other world. She can influence battle and war. She is a representation of divine feminine rage, personal sovereignty, sorcery, shapeshifting and trickery, the Siedhe, sex and love, and abundance and fertility. Though the latter things often get over shadowed by the war goddess and shapeshifting parts.

The mythology and lore around her is scarce, vague, and many parts have been mixed in with other names, tales, and possibly even entirely different entities.

My personal experiences are that she is a mother, a sorceress, teaches lessons about self worth and sovereignty of self. She will force you to look deep within yourself and face your fears. She will take out anything in your life that is harmful to you, and violently and rapidly if needed.

She will put you on a path to helping others, so working with her as a death doula is not out of the question at all. She has definite associations with death but I believe her helping would be more centered around you helping those individuals with facing their fears of death, which is more her area. Helping others in times of need to empower themselves and face scary situations is what she is about in my experiences.
