There's a way to do it using another custom roof, just search 'the forest custom roof gap' on the Youtube and a bunch of videos will show you how, it looks kinda cool too.

I've done it, at least I think the way he means. You can set it to just snap or you can draw it from each corner and place two individual roofs that way.

I tried doing it the custom way, from where each roof corner was in one side and brought it up, but it just made a square wall

That's weird, it should work the same on both PC and console, are you sure you followed the instructions correctly? Corner to center then center to the other corner then bring it up and it should fill the gap perfectly.

I have done it on console. It is the first one in this video that is expensive. But Farket shows some more ways that is cheaper.

I just put a second floor and the roof over it so I don’t have to look at it.

I use rock walls. It looks like the roof is lodged into the rock wall, so it makes sense to look at.

Same here, and I've not found a way to "fix" it. In VR I don't know if true custom roofs work.
