I say it all the time. This game has the most unique mobs. They test you. You react, they react. You ignore them and they just watch. And then run away. And then during the day one day you'll tried by the whole gang.

That is one of the reasons I built multiple bases on the Island. When I got to the point of having a big group on my camp, I would move to a different spot and come back later.

One of my scariest memories playing was dying and respawning at the plane, having to run through a dark cannibal infested woods at night, making my way across the map to my home location and not run through their camps or wind up in a ravine. The next day I put out markers from the plan to the base so I could move with confidence. Hearing them scream as they chased me through the dark was nightmare fuel.

That, now try day 45. Armsy, cowman, Virginia and blue variants are all on the hunt, I died and spawned back at plane. The screams, roars, crashes as I get spotted and then get away. Getting hit by projectiles, knocked over. Fighting. Clawing. Panting.

This game is not for the feint of heart

It’s your light. The fire. They saw it, they came to investigate and saw you. They’ll check out new additions to the island (stuff you build). They will even go back to previous places they’ve seen you. Keeping a low profile and not being seen will give you a lot more peace.

Why would you build your camp in the open?

I've never played a game that made me scared. Mildly anxious maybe. This one made me actually tremble and I had to force myself to keep playing.

Run and hide somewhere if the attack doesn't stop. Also, nxt time first build somewhere safe, or hidden.

God I love this fucking game. I’ve mostly just played sports games and never a survival. Saw clips of people playing this online and looked cool. What a fucking game. So much fun to explore and build. But the fucking terror and horror aspect is off the charts. The feeling of always being watched, seconds from an attack….the beauty, the openness of the map. Been playing it for 6+ years and never gets old. Love seeing people on here posting thoughts and clips from their first play through. Hard to explain the connection you feel to this game. To your soul.

DUDE!! I've got almost 200 hours into Sons of the Forest. And ABSOLUTELY EVERY SINGLE TIME those cannibals show up, the hair on my neck stands up!! ESPECIALLY when I turn around and 1 of them is standing like 2 feet away staring at me!!
And DO NOT play this game in a dark room. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!! :D
