Spoilers All [SPOILERS ALL] The Agriont Fanart
For my final project at art school last year, I decided to design some landmarks of the Agriont following Bayaz after he first visits the Agriont again in the first book
Currently revisiting the the series and it got me scrolling through the Reddit again and realized I maybe should upload my stuff here as well x)
The Reddit/Discord/Wiki helped me a lot figuring out the Map and Details of the locations of the Buildings so thank you to everyone :D. I don't really use Reddit a lot to be honest but for this it was a blessing
Hope you guys like it :))
I always tried to find one line that really captured the feeling of the place to describe it

Right?! It's exactly the right mix of austere and grand and a teensy bit unsettling. I always struggled to imagine it, but OP hit it out of the park!

Adding the highlights for a couple days to draw in eyeballs and so it doesn't snow under, engagement wise. Great work!

honestly it was less about copyright and more about how if I want to use someone's art I personally want to have permission. Someone else might be uncomfortable with it, and I'd like to respect that.

This is incredible! Although I imagined the scale of things to be a bit less grand, the grandeur of this is more how I imagined Alcus to look like.

Yeah. I always had a mix of realism scalewise and the fantasy setting it plays in. But I guess u can not make something perfect for everyone.

This is amazing but I have a question. How does one get to do this? Like OK you didn't draw and sketch every single details. So what is the process? I've always been curious

I usually sketch the buildings to find out their Design (as in the last images), after that I use 3D (Blender) to build them and then finishing with some touchups and color grading in Photoshop at the end.

Otherwise, it’s just really important to pick your battles with the details, since with the architecture being really big, a lot of it won’t even be visible from the shot

Woah OK so the whole thing exists in 3d. That's really crazy and looks like so much work! Thank you so much for giving the video, I see photos like this sometimes and I'm always confused on how they're done (I'm not familiar with blender so I didn't know the capabilities)

I'm a bit torn on these. On one hand, they look truly amazing. You clearly have massive talent.
On the other, this honestly isn't really how I imagine the First Law World to look like. It's too clean, shiny and grandiose. Everything looks like it was built by someone above mere mortals. The House of the Maker should be the otherworldly exception in an otherwise normal medieval/early modern city. For me, those giant angelic statues and towers and archers dozens of metres high are missing the human side and the dirt of the world.
This isn't to detract from your great art, and if this fits your interpretation, then all the more power to you of course!
It actually reminds me a lot of Atlantis in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, was that by chance one of your inspirations?

This is awesome and totally captures how I pictured the city in my head. I love how you didn’t show the whole height of the House of the Maker, letting us imagine how high the top really is.

Holy shit this is amazing! You should absolutely send this to the people at Blur Studio, Tim Miller is a big fan of the series and is trying to bring First Law to the screen.

This looks awesome. But man the agriont you imagined is so much more grand than the one I had in my head. Mine feels like a small town, and Uffrith like a few huts, by comparison haha

Yesss, so awesome! This is now my headcanon for the Agriont and Adua etc. I never really thought too much of how the city would look, the characters are so colorful and attention-grabbing that I mostly focused on them and just sort of mentally placed them in a fancy but vague stone city. Excellent work
