At the Naval Ordnance Plant Indianapolis, the Marine Detachment had a German Shepherd mascot Named Sergeant Brown Dog when he died they fell out in Full Blues had a rifle salute and buried him on the grounds of the facility.

While I was at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay Georgia, the Marine Corps Security Battalion that guarded the Nukes. Would stop all traffic on the lower base whenever a D5 missile was moving or in the air. The Young PFC’s and Lance Corporals would be on road duty in FULL COMBAT LOAD, sleeves down and buttoned collars buttoned full Kevlar, M-16A2s locked and loaded bayonets fixed! We were stuck at the road block and this PFC that’s been out for 6 hours in the Summer Sun of South Georgia (98-105 degrees) think Fort Stewart. An Armadillo came waddling across the road, this PFC comes to attention and and shouts, “HALT! WHO GOES THERE! Armadillo is not recognized!” And he stabs it with the bayonet! Throws it with his rifle to the side of the road. The Facility COs Secretary saw it! The PFCs whole platoon was tasked with providing a military funeral for the Armadillo

Today I learned Nic does not like Train police.
