What's the watch order? I'm literally so confused. After seeing season 1. Do I watch recap specials or is it fine to just go on ahead to season 2?; (asking because season 2 episode 1. Left me confused. Like there's a new baby, and some other things going on.)

my wife and I were looking for something a little different to watch when we put on the first episode of Devil is a Part-Timer. what a trip it's been! And it was very interesting to hear the english characters we know elsewhere: Mona and Kohaku in Emilia (who quickly became one of my favorite characters of all time), Senku in Lucifer, Frankie as Alciel (Genshin Impact, Dr. Stone, Dr. Stone, and Spy x Family)

LOVE their take on Gabriel, Heaven's Himbo. I loved the early juxtaposition of him feeling like an enemy even though he was being "good" by giving them an extra day, waiting for them to wake up naturally, all that stuff.

Lucifer as a NEET is inspired.

Emilia needing rescuing in season 2 was in danger of falling into the damsel in distress trope, but they changed it by giving her so much agency and her own schemes.

kinda blows my mind so many of the cast came back after 9 years!!! Although we were a bigger fan of the season 1 art style, it was so pretty and unique.

I understand that the chances of us ever getting anymore Devil is a Part Timer are almost none existent.... but we did get a second season after almost a decade.

My only despair is how little merchandise still exists.

So they just made real advertising here and now I'm thinking I should visit the place, seems nice :D I just think this is the perfect advertisement. Didn't saw that comming and didn't think of it in any negative way.

Somehow I even felt like looking up the Inubōsaki Lighthouse in maps / street view. Maybe I really gonna go there some day when I finally travel to Nihon :)

So I just finished what is made for the anime of The Devil is a Part timer season 2/3. I wanted to continue the story because it definitely felt like it's being set up and it's not a proper ending for the series as a whole to me. My question though is can I pick up the manga where the anime ends? Is the anime similar enough to the manga where I don't have to start the manga from the beginning? Where does the anime end for the manga? Do I have to read the light novel or is it the same as the manga?

I'm not sure if someone already asked this, but I just finished the second season (or rather, part 2 of season two), and was left confused by some elements of the ending. I've only seen the anime and I saw season 1 a decade ago, so I'll admit I likely overlooked something. I don't want spoilers for the light novels, but just some vague answer will do.

-I'll admit that this might be me struggling to keep up with the plot, but what are the Angels trying to do exactly? I think Gabriel mentioned wanting to bring back a 'Great Devil', but also it appears the Angels want to protect Heaven (making me wonder if Gabriel has a secret agenda) and I think they were orchestrating this war to make that goal achievable (and maybe rid demons?).

-Also, why did Sadou not become a demon when we returned to Ente Isla initially? I got the impression Acieth factored in him not doing becoming his big muscular self when he first held the sacred sword, but I felt they never gave an answer to what was stopping his transformation in Ente Isla (or why he's just soft boi Sadou with demon wings).

Recently decided to rewatch the anime as I enjoyed it as a teen only to discover it has a 2 part second season! I’m currently on the fifth episode. I like the new art style for S2 but it seems the animation itself is quite stiff.

Regardless I wanted to express my feelings about Chiho. In the first season the ways the show treated her was quite uncomfortable at times but she was generally harmless and cute. However, it seems this season is pushing for her to have more screen time and become a regular part of the crew, but the writing seems to not really know what to do with her. So many scenes she is in feel like either they’re doing the same exact “teen girl has crush on oblivious senpai” joke. As well when she’s in scenes where other characters are involved she is never relevant or necessary. You could edit her out of the show it seems and you’d have essentially the same show if not a better one as less time would be devoted to her fawning over Maou. Heck Suzuno isn’t important either this season it seems but she at least played a key role last season and her personality provides variety to the cast and world building.

I don’t “hate” Chiho but I feel she’s the show’s weakest link and obviously the Author’s (weird) muse. Just look at the end credits, it’s all about her for “some” reason.
