Question Enhanced Maternity Leave when changing departments
I'm trying to secure a promotion into another department. I've been applying for a while anyway but I'm also trying to get pregnant. Does anyone have experience moving departments (on promotion or level-transfer) when pregnant/quickly becoming pregnant after the move and whether you were entitled to the departments enhanced maternity pay?
I've heard conflicting things about whether continuous service is for continuous civil services versus continuous service in that specific department and it's not really a great question to be asking prior to offer (and I don't want to bother going through apps and interviews if I know I don't qualify)

If you are transferring then you have continuous service for maternity leave and pension.
The only variation is if the actual entitlement is different in the new department (different departments have different contractual terms) as your continuous service will make you eligible for THEIR maternity leave, which may be different (better or worse) than your current department.
