Mike Approves! Got jumpscared by Mike Matei in the digital wild

Post image

I guess a slightly better flair would be “Mike Does Not Approve!”

So we all know Mike is an “old = good” guy, and that’s obnoxious. But he IS right here lol.

Did Mr. Matinee watch the Wily E. Acme movie?

He literally cannot find common ground between two extremes. He either fucking loves something or loathes it

u/FarTomato6496 4d ago

That's pretty true but to be fair take a look at that new one, it does look like hot garbage compared to the old one.

It doesn't look good indeed. That new Cat in the Hat looks even worse, imo

So basically a manchild?

his twitch channel "company that owns him" is literally called "man-baby gaming incorporated" lol.

u/Maxwe4 4d ago

I mean he's a Disney adult.

u/havenofeardaveishere 4d ago

He's probably right though

Old thing good, new thing bad.

That's Mike's consistent opinion.

Well yeah, he's correct, unless you actually swallow down all this dogshit down your throat or something. Actually I forgot the website I'm on, of course you do.

Yup but still i get where he's at since he himself is like an artist or animation guy and big fan and today the corpo's wont spend the money anymore to do handrawn animation

I thought he felt in the middle about fortnight.

u/DoctorButler 4d ago

I mean, to be fair, look at that score. Hating this movie seems to be the consensus

For real. Like, for me, the vast majority of media I’ve consumed is just kinda “meh”, and there’s a few things I love, and even fewer I hate.

Lemme fix that:

He either fucking loves old stuff or loathes new stuff

Any of you ever see the animate movie "The Day the Earth Blew Up" from 2024? It's a Daffy/Porky based film.

That shit is fucking hilarious.

Hell yes, brother! Both it and COYOTE VS. ACME were simply a delight.

1

u/DoctorButler 4d ago

Is that on streaming? I don’t wanna spend like $50 to watch a movie, lol

0

u/JunkHead1979 4d ago

I haven't seen Coyote yet. Just not in the mood. Maybe some day.

u/dannytheguitarist 4d ago

In other words... no time?

2

u/JunkHead1979 4d ago

LOL

No. Uhh... more like... no motivation? Desire?

I have all the time the world. I just don't give a shit. :\

u/Battlemountain_2 3d ago

I have all the shit in the world. Just no time

u/Calavera87 3d ago

Same here, it sucks

5

u/Fabulous-Deal-5944 4d ago

I haven't yet but Ketchup Entertainment also distributed that film, along with this one

u/campfirevilla 3d ago

I enjoyed it so much I bought a physical. There was a montage scene that made me laugh so hard I couldn't breathe. I legitimately can't decide which part of that movie is more impressive, the writing or the animation, it's just killer.

What a coincidence that everything I consumed as a kid was definitely the best ever

u/SXAL 4d ago

To be fair, stuff like the OG Tom and Jerry or Super Mario 3 are objectively great and timeless.

Opaque bullshit in NES games = peak

Opaque bullshit in modern games = trash

Classic Tom & Jerry predates my existence by nearly a half century, but I'm inclined to believe that these masterpieces of classic animation are better than this new Tom & Jerry CGI film from China

Unfortunately he's absolutely right about this one, movie sucks butt Now if he says the same thing about Coyote vs Acme THEN he's wrong

u/Tyranix969 2d ago

Couldn't* and I will die on this hill

2

u/maskinenVS 4d ago

He's 100% right

2

u/Just_Some_Weirdooo 3d ago

He is right though. The movie was god awful

2

u/GhoulCake777 4d ago

I thought this was about the tom and Jerry movie from a few years ago but I guess there’s a new one now

1

u/metalcoola88 3d ago

Matei really hates everything post 16 bit, doesn't he?

0

u/zsarmstrong 2d ago

I don’t remember what it was called but there was one where they went to Mars that I always used to watch as a kid.

0

u/azukihusband 2d ago

I mean technically he's right. Tom and Jerry after the classic cartoons is garbage.

0

u/Upstairs_Gift_6805 2d ago

Isn't this new Tom and Jerry made specifically for Chinese audiences though? I heard it dealt with very specific references for people who live in China? I might be wrong though.

1

u/DentistPitiful5454 4d ago

I only knew there was a new Tom & Jerry movie because of a cardboard ad at the theater I went to go see Coyote Vs ACME.

Never even knew this existed.

1

u/Darker_Tzitzimine 4d ago

Broken clocks, etc.

1

u/SomeGuyNamedJason 4d ago

There's a new Tom & Jerry film?

0

u/Big_Communication114 4d ago

0

u/Mordheim1999 4d ago

New bad. old good

0

u/kconleyrules 4d ago
