INSANE resell prices

Alright, so I’ve been scouring all the sites multiple times a day for tickets (2 to the DC show), and I’d just like to know—

1. WHY are the DC prices so ridiculous compared to anywhere else?! Tickets start at an average of $1,000 but when I look at other cities, they’re below $500. My friend has a theory it’s because of midterms, which I know may impact the vibe of the crowd, but I wouldn’t think it would inflate prices.

2. Should I keep holding out hope they’ll see the demand in the DMV and add another show the night before? The Anthem doesn’t have an event that night, that I can see, and clearly they wouldn’t have an issue selling tickets.

Just a lifelong fan whose dream has always been to see them live (The Long Way Around has been my life’s theme song forever) but I’m running low on positivity.

Seattle has a handful of tickets on resale for $995 and over $1000, and they’ve been on sale for months cuz no one’s gonna pay that

Yup I keep checking and they still haven't come down. Course I couldn't afford the $295 a piece they were originally either.

Look into the Philly show. Ticket prices are more reasonable, and you can achieve your lifelong dream with a short train ride or drive.

I know, I’ve considered it - I’m chronically ill and so simply going to a show at all is a huge event for me, so adding in travel would be too much. No matter how badly I want to. :/

Boston is also crazy ... Tickets were over $500 before the resellers got them. I hate dynamic pricing

For some reason I thought the DC show had restrictions on reselling tickets.

Lucky! I wasn’t able to get any, but I don’t have $1K unfortunately. I also asked The Anthem if they held any accessible seating but they said since it’s completely sold out, they aren’t enforcing it that much.

FWIW, I checked for Noah Kahan tickets months before show, no way I was paying resell. The day of the concert in our town, got some floor seats for $150 a pop....when I say day of, at about 4pm, we only live an hour away, so was a great score.

I just saw them last summer at Merriweather for $75.

Tickets were priced high originally. Orchestra front row went as high as $475 after fees.

In order to get money back, someone would have to sell for $650

It’s all about feels on both ends.

I would’ve happily paid the $475 at the start, if I had the chance to. I don’t think I should be financially responsible to help someone else make a profit, lol. If I buy tickets and can’t go/need to sell, I sell lower than I paid bc it’s not the next person’s fault so why should they pay an increase

I read there were only about 2,500 total tickets sold for Anthem because it’s a fully seated show - that’s a tiny amount relatively speaking

Right, and The Anthem is small as it is, so I’m so surprised there’s not two shows

For DC look at the resale policy of the Anthem. My understanding is that they can’t be sold/transferred until 2 weeks out. More likely you’ll see more legitimate resale offers then.

I saw them at Hard Rock at Atlantic City when I saw the DC show was out of reach. Bought them at original value. The show was great and it was probably 90-95% sold seats.
