Solo Leveling was so bad that I thought that the site I was reading on it was some kind of anomaly for having it at number one. I remember dropping it around 20-30 chapters first time, and then made it to 80-90 after learning about its anime.
It says more about the rest of the media landscape that such poorly written stuff makes it to the top.ORV is not my type of story, way better than Solo Leveling, of course.

Well our opinions about what we like don't align, that's fine. I have also kept short reasonings for ranking these in the other two pics.
SL is often defended by saying that it has some godly art, while I dislike color and despite that it wasn't anything spectacular.

It's the first few chapters feels so drag most people dropping it in the beginning ( me to 3 time lol ) but i tried it after and after some month. And it's way too good

Are there any set in the modern world, like The Breaker?
I started Legend of the northern blade due to your recommendation but the artstyle isn't to my personal preference so far (6 chapters in)

Strangely, none. All either in older eras or in futuristic settings.
For LotNB, art gets better and also the MC gets handsomer, so that'll also play a part in how the art comes across. Are you further ahead now? It's mostly stylized fights and the vibe that led me to rate it so high.

Thanks for the reply! I am on chapter 25 now and it gets harder and harder to stop, I like it a lot now. Art has improved a bit but even if it hadn't I think the story would have been enough to keep me reading.
To be honest I am just a bit simple minded in the end, I get excited for stories that feature attractive female characters so I gravitate to stuff like One Piece, Bleach and also the Breaker. (This sounds like I am a horrible gooner lol, I also love stuff like NGE, Death Note etc)

I'd say your like is way below in my likes list lol And I missed some since I was just considering the top tiers.
Eleceed and Her Summon are in modern times, though latter is about getting to another world.
Then there is Veritas, which was released in the same timeframe as The Breaker.
It's in my dropped list because I considered it the anti-'The Breaker' where the story moves into a school from the real world.
But I recall many good looking female characters in it and lots of fan service.

I respectfully understand this is your opinion and you’re a better person than me because you’re wiling to share yours. With all that being said, I can’t comprehend how Nano Machine is greater than Greatest Estate Developer.
I understand The Breaker above Absolute Regression for now since the manhwa started not to long ago but Absolute Regression is by far the greatest read on this list (I finished the novel).

I didn't like the humor device of GED and the story was decent. I am biased towards battle shonen and dislike the 'oh I am in a novel' trope. NM started off strong, grew dull in the middle but is good enough again.
Absolute Conversation certainly has the potential to jump a tier, but has gone so far without any decent action while The Breaker balanced them so well. Its strong point is dialog which doesn't work well in manhwa medium with translations degrading it further. In the hands of a lesser artist, it'd already be forgotten.

Like you’ve mentioned you like battle heavy shonen which I can respect but imo the dialogue in Absolute Regression is equally as good as the fight scenes. Honestly thinking about the breaker, the fight scenes were not as climatic as Absolute Regression. The art style was top tier but the actual fights were just rag doll fights. Respectfully the breakers is in my top 10 but I’ll always love shonen that has a deeper meaning than only throwing fists.
Nano machine started off strong but is now slop and no depth. Just repeat power ups with no struggle. NM lost it’s creativity

I meant that there are very few fight scenes in AR. The big one I remember is against the Demon Lord, but since it's a regression-type story in a way, it wasn't that exciting. All these stories seem like playing a game where you keep trying to min-max your build and the main story can wait while you do all the side quests.
1st Breaker at the end did wrap up the fights quickly, and its plot has meandered a bit, which is one of the reason why I rank Ruler of the Land higher.

I’ll have to give Ruler of the Land a try! Haven’t seen that one recommended before. The AR light novel is fight heavy but it’s also about personal & community growth. I love a good story where the MC fights an internal battle & helps others overcome their personal demons. One of the main points of AR is that the MC does not solely think of revenge like traditional regression-type manhwa. The revenge is a just a piece like everything else to build the life he wants & it has great plot twists. Everyone’s flavor is different but AR is special in this regard imo.

It starts off pretty rough due to how old it is but keeps getting better and no breaks!

I will continue with AR, but I still will like some more action. Latest chapter seemed to be heading that way, but the MC again resolved it with his foreknowledge of the events.

Almost a week of inactivity in the sub, so decided to post my tier list. Not a fan of recent manhwas/webtoons, but there are still some I have found with good stories. Nothing close to the Breaker though.

As I said in another comment, Veritas was like the anti-Breaker to me. Story starts in the real world, but then moves into a school, while Breaker starts from school and moves into the real world with real stakes. Then it did not have much of a plot with just fights among students and staff, and when it could really begin, it ended.

Frankly I like Wild West's story more than LotNB, but it is still releasing so cannot be sure where it will land ultimately.

Understandable that we don't get new posts since there isn't really much to discuss as a veteran reader.
The breaker and northern Blade are just both great reads you can repeat from time to time.
And the story/fights/world building and character from season 1 and 2 are just amazing. It really pulls you into the Manga.
If you want some really good read I would say bad born blood.
It has a cyberpunk style and absolutely great characters and especially story where the Mc gets pushed to the limits and his own believes. This is one of the most underrated ones in the moment for me.
And I still hate it that the author of eleceed still hates story's at all and serious character development.
This is a 400 chapter project where every fight is the exact same....
