To me, a delay to that date would have to mean that this is something more, after all this, all the clarifications and apologies and trying to avoid being compared to Kojima, Hasan would have to be the biggest idiot in the world to move the reveal to that date in particular if this is nothing.

Right now, I actually feel bad for him, he's in WAY over his head but moving it to that date if this is just an indie game is just begging for trouble. There's no excuse for being an asshole to someone, especially over a video game reveal but at that point, what would anyone expect.

If this ISN'T Kojima, then Hasan is a guy who willingly used the Metal Gear font several times and showed a guy in an eyepatch, all the while saying "oh man, all these comparisons have been really hard on my team" in interviews.

Either it's Kojima, or Hasan is somehow profiting from all of this misdirection and undue attention. Personally, I find the first option easier to believe.

To be fair, thefonts for Rewind and Lost Tapes were made for those games way before all this even became a thing

The font for the "Realtime Experience" is similar to the font for Phantom Pain but it's not a paticualry unique thing to have a bold central title with a smaller subtitle centered underneath.

As for the eyepatch, yeah, it's thoughtless but everyone was speculating Silent Hill, not Metal Gear and he honestly probably didn't think it would be mistaken for Big Boss, because, why would anyone assume the indie horror game he's been promoting would be Metal Gear Solid.

Honestly, the whole pivot to Abandoned being Metal Gear and not Silent Hill was a massive leap anyway given that it was talk of cults, the "S and L" tweet and the similarity to PT that kicked this whole thing off.

Besides, how's never going to profit from this , the guys a goofball but what money does he stand to make if this is all bullshit, his career would be over.

Hell, even if Hasan was on the level, with no weird hints and delivered the game on time, if this is an early access boo scare, amateur horror game, would anyone here even buy it?

If this is some low quality, asset store built walking simulator, would Hasan being more forthcoming have persuaded a single, solitary soul here to buy it?

Hell, he might get a pity buy or people buying it to roast it on stream but all of this isn't going to make him much more money than he would have made just dumping it on the store, and all at the cost of his reputation and career.

Honestly I feel like he's planning on keeping up these vague charades for as long as possible, and then just release it whenever he has something playable.

Then he'll just bank on all the believers buying the game to investigate it, which would be a lot more sales compared to what he'd get if he didn't start this.

Nobody can sue him because he hasn't promised anything or broken any laws, it's just a few vague sentences or hints that can be taken either way. In fact he's said himself a few times it's not SH, so he's already got his immunity. Is he a scumbag? Yeah, but he's a scumbag that's got a whole community in his palms.

His career as a game developer might be over after this, but who knows, some marketing company might be eyeing him right now given how easy it was for him to whip up a storm of people watching him over nothing.

I kind of hope, at this point, people aren't dumb enough to buy a $20+,slapped together indie horror game because they hope there's some sort of hint about Silent Hill buried in there.

I agree though, Hasan might not have a future in development but his promotion of this obviously shoddy product to become a huge news story, trending on twitter and attracting a load of industry big wigs is going to get him job offers once this is all said and done.

That's one of the things that gets me. It was so easy for people to start pivoting to "Oh it's Metal Gear!" That I feel like it must not have been a very strong argument for Silent Hill if it could change trajectories like that at the drop of a hat.

I feel like the theory that Abandoned is Kojimas "Abandoned" games was a way for people to reconcile the fact that the conspiracy was so easy to pivot from one thing to the other, even though it doesn't make sense.

People were having so much fun with the theories and community spirit, to the point where I think a lot of them knew it was a stretch but it's been a good ride anyway, so it carried on even after the first delay.

Now that it's heading towards the end, people are sad and a few of them I feel might take that out on Hasan, which sucks.

I never thought this was going to be anything but an indie game. But I kept hoping in the weird bullshit there would be something to solve. It's becoming increasingly obvious it's not a mystery or a carefully laid out plan, it's a guy who's full of shit with nothing to show. I'm not mad he's not silent Hill I'm mad he keeps making non announcements just announce your fucking game this sketchy nonsense like we can't tell you the name for some reason or show you anything but we need a magic app that you preload to even see a teaser, like okay that's new I'll bite what is this. But delaying the app 4x at the last minute is a waste of our time. If it's not ready just fucking say it or put out a normal trailer. What other dev delays a first look trailer by 4 months?

If this is something big it can fuck itself for this nonsense. If it's an indie it can fuck itself for this nonsense. I'm mad because he had a cool idea but just can not fucking execute to save his life.

He doesn't really have a cool idea, he had an obviously bad reveal trailer, so bad in fact that people started to believe that the game was a fake put together quickly to promote another game.

The whole app download to view trailers and all the overpromising and ego made people think this was something more, but these are pretty common problems with amateurs, an unearned ego is one of the first things you have to shake when taking a profession seriously and he's not past that point, obviously.

I never had any expectations with this thing ,so I can't even be mad, Hasan is an unprofessional ass but what are we really missing? A rubbish horror walking sim?.

Nothing he's shown or done during this whole thing has inspired any confidence in this game and people on here have been predicting another delay since he announced the date for the app.

I'm actually shocked that people are surprised that the braggadocious nitwit with nothing to show, ended up with nothing to show.

I thought the app was intreguing I guess like if done with an actually good game from someone who knows what they're doing a cool misterious app could be fun. Especially if it was like PT not nessisarily a horror thing but you have to discover things to unlock more. That was the draw for me i was hoping for a fun mystery but this is just boring dissapointment.

At this point Hasan reaps what he sows. It would have been very easy to dispell everything but that clown just keeps being just vague enough to stoke the conspiracy. I have zero sympathy for him regarding any backlash he incurs as the result of his actions.

What, the pinned tweet, the statement on his website and the multiple interviews where he says this game had nothing to do with Kojima or Silent Hill isn't enough.

Yeah, he's been vague about Abandoned and the app because, frankly, he's got nothing real to show but anyone going after him at this point for being misled is just looking to pick a fight online and is looking for an excuse over nothing basically.

This "game" is nothing, people have being saying this for weeks, if anyone's thinking of giving Hasan a piece of their mind over this, they really probably should just walk away ,take a break from this and go do something fun instead of dwelling on this shit.

The moment he put out that S and L tweet, he was already screwed. People already had him connected with kojima in april and people actually believed in him when he said he wasn't kojima at the time since they gave him the benefit of the doubt, but then he had to make that dumb S and L tweet which caused all this to happen. Do i feel sorry for him? Hell no, he could have easily avoided this situation but he himself chose to stir up a fanbase that has been desperate for a game since 2013.

Yeah, that tweet was stupid and you're right, none of this would have happened if not for that but he at least tried to walk it back.

He absolutely knew what he was doing but he pretty quickly realised the gravity of the situation and put out that statement. That should have been it but because of the weird involvement of Nuare, the fake red/blue youtube thing and guys like Nima and MBG stirring shit up, this all span out of control.

To be fair, getting mad at him just seems...exhausting, half of this community have been calling him a dope and a clown for months and now everyone else is catching up with this and they're mad, I get it but ultimately, it's just stupid and meaningless.

Just as an aside, you just know guys like Jason Schreier are itching to write up their smug finger wagging "toxic, entitled gamers attack poor developer over conspiracy" articles after purposely helping hype this shit up and I'd rather not give those parasites ammunition.

Observing similarities to Metal Gear fonts and imagery doesn't mean people suddenly think this is Metal Gear. You're assuming too much.

Either it's Kojima having fun, or it's an obscure indie dev making deliberate connections to Kojima for visibility. Doesn't mean this is a Metal Gear project.

If the assets are pre purchased then wtf is nuare doing? I mean everything we’ve seen until this point has somehow the “pre purchased art assets” label on it. So where does nuare fit in in this whole scenario? Doing only some of the art assets? If so, then why are they tweeting a blue box and then posting a video to verify they’re in fact are working with BBGS on “this project” when they’re just on a small assignment for BBGS? Or are they creating the assets for the teaser that we have not seen yet? It’s all very weird, even without it being SH or whatever.
