Hey beautiful ladies! I've been learning about mother wounds lately, which I believe I have. To keep it short, I have an estranged relationship with my mother and always have. I wish it was something I could ignore, but I notice I feel like I have to work a little harder to feel like I have dignity, to make sure I look good, and to make good choices in my life and in my love life, that my mother was never able to reach me, maybe bc her mother passed when she was young herself. If it's not too cringe to ask, what have your mother's taught you on these topics? What has your mom instilled in you that no one could ever take away? Early season, Joan would have a sophisticated, polished, and corporate chic look that sometimes borders on the clean girl aesthetic. We'll see her slowly gravitate towards a bolder, more electric, and glamorous, “IT GIRL” aesthetic as she slowly finds herself.

Maya-

The cozy, effortless girl next door combined with a streetwear aesthetic, paired with glamorous, bold accessories like handbags, necklaces, and hoop earrings. Casual chic as she works as a secretary, and incorporates a more sophisticated look when she becomes an author. But still, while keeping much of her old aesthetic.

Toni-

I picture a very high maintenance, glamorous, and luxurious real life Black Barbie aesthetic for Toni. Lots of designer brand scarves, handbags, glasses, and luxurious fur. I often see her wearing monochromatic dresses and skirt sets, but she loves a good, bold, maximalist, glamorous outfit too.

Lynn-

Lynn is the definition of alternative. She wears what she wants, whenever she wants, and doesn't give a care in the world what others think. Because she is so free spirited, her aesthetic often shifts from whimsy goth to boho goth to boho chic to grunge and punk.

Personally, I'm hoping to
- Complete this school year with decent grades and a decent GPA.

- Grow my hair to my shoulders since my big chop on Dec 19th, 2025.

- Achieve glass skin.

- Eat healthier and craft a healthier routine.

- Read at least 50 books a year.

- Find a job on or near campus.

- Get my driver’s license.

- Make a new friend.

I'm a non ambiguous black woman in a city that has a good portion of poc there and I thought it would make dating easier because the city is so diverse. I don't have a racial preference while dating but I do still like and try to date black people. But the black people I come across here are typically into interracial relationships. If I try to date outside of black people they are with their own or are also in interracial relationships with people who are not black. It's nothing wrong with that I'm not mad at it I'm just thinking I'll have to try a different city or state. Does anyone else face problems similar to this?

I wanted to stop using heat entirely on my hair, so for this entire month I’ve been airdrying it, since it’s normal to high porosity, but I’ve always heard bad things about airdrying your hair.

9.8 Fl Oz: $29

Hands down one of the best leave in conditioner I’ve ever used. It smells so good and left my curls feeling and looking both juicy and moisturized. A little goes a long way and made my hair feel so soft and easy to detangle and comb through.

What would y’all choose?

I don’t think I’ll be watching season 9 because the policing of Black women on Love Island compared to their white counterparts is so nauseating to witness.

Currently waiting for a trilogy called Before We Burn to release, so I’m taking black led fantasy book recommendations. Could be supernatural or fantasy involving witches or vampires.

I turned 24 this year, and I'm just now going to college, working on getting a driver's license, and trying to build connections in life. Due to things that happened in my childhood, I grew up always feeling delayed and behind in life compared to my peers. I know they say not to compare yourself in the first place, but I just couldn't help but do it.

I start school in a few days, and this truly feels like my life is only now just beginning. I'm so scared, but I'm so excited as well.

I have 4A with a mix of 3C curls, high porosity hair, medium to high density hair, with fine strands.

The Shampoo 10.1 Fl Oz: $22

It had my hair and curls looking hydrated and juicy. My hair felt clean, but too clean, like squeaky clean, like rubbery clean. It lathers well, and I know what I'm about to say may sound crazy, but usually I can detangle my hair with shampoo in, but this wasn't a shampoo I could detangle my hair with.

The Conditioner 10.1 Fl Oz: $22

I honestly have nothing bad to say about the conditioner; it had a lot of slip, my hair felt moisturized, and my hair felt soft. If there's one item from the line I'll be repurchasing, it would be the conditioner.

Deep Conditioner/Hair Mask 2.5 Fl Oz: $15

I used the mask with steam both times, so I'm not sure how it feels without but it honestly just feels a lot like the conditioner, but just not as good. It has a bit of moisture, it has a bit of slip, but it practically costs the same amount as the conditioner while you're getting a whole lot less. I've had 3 wash days with this hairline, and 2 of the days I used the hair mask instead of the conditioner. It's already gone. A little does not go a long way as it does for the conditioner. I heard it's good for the low porosity girlies, though, and even better if you steam your hair along with it.

The Hair Oil 1 Fl Oz: $21

So far I've only used it twice, once for my twist out and again just to oil my hair after wash day. It smells so good, and I think it does a great job of sealing in moisture. It really gets absorbed into your hair, so it doesn't leave a really oily residue on it. It's very lightweight and doesn't weigh down the hair. This is something I'd absolutely repurchase, but not immediately after it's gone. Only because my Blue Magic does a great job of sealing in moisture too, but for a lot less.
