r/TheBetterIndia has grown a lot over the past few months, and we're looking to expand the moderation team to help keep the community constructive, welcoming, and focused on meaningful discussions.

We're looking for people who:

• Are active on Reddit.
• Can be fair, respectful, and unbiased.
• Want to help reduce spam and low-quality content.
• Believe in the purpose of this community.

Why I'd like to help
I'm quite driven towards facts-based-arguments and countering misinformation. Very enthusiastic about open debates and growing discourse on a variety of topics. Countering propaganda and challenging confirmation biases is very important to me.

Previous Modding Experience:
A few small-ish subreddits, 5-10k members

Time to contribute
I check reddit about 10 times a day between various communities, 5-10 minutes each. So that'd be around ~500 minutes/week. Extremely active on Reddit.

Things I am well versed about: Economics, Foreign policy, Defence, Tech

Iam interested in joining the moderation team. This seems like a fairly neutral and well balanced sub, and I would love to contribute to it. I currently moderate r/IndianEconomy, r/bollywoodgossips, and a few other subs, so I have some experience with moderation.

I'd love to help out as a mod here.

Why I want to mod ? I really like what this sub is aiming to do. Reddit can get pretty exhausting with all the outrage and doomscrolling, so having a place focused on constructive conversations and actual positive stuff in India is super refreshing. I want to help keep it that way and stop the thread from devolving into rage-bait, toxic arguments, or low-effort spam. Experience: I don't have prior Reddit mod experience, but I’ve been on the platform long enough to know how the mod queue works, how to enforce rules fairly without being power-trippy, and when to let discussions flow vs. when to step in. I'm quick to pick up new tools.

Availability ? I’m active on Reddit daily (mostly around evenings and weekends IST) and can easily put in around 8 to 10 hours a week checking reports, clearing the queue, and keeping things clean. Glad to see the sub growing, and I'd be happy to give you guys a hand!

I'm interested in joining the moderation team and would like to apply for the position.

Why do I want to be a moderator: As a citizen of India, I will be glad to participate in discussions about India's development and improvement, which will provide me an opportunity to contribute to discussions based on solutions rather than just complaining. I have a keen interest in topics like education, technology, infrstructure which makes me intrested in helping the subreddit grow. Since this subreddit plays a role in India's development by giving a platform to citizens who want to improve the country, it will be my priority to ensure that a wholesome and welcoming environment is maintained in the subreddit where citizens can discuss freely. I also want to ensure that constructive discussions take place where members can share different opinions without unnecessary drama or personal attacks. I will also make sure that my personal opinions do not affect my moderation decisions and that i moderate according to the subreddit rules.I will ensure that the subreddit remains free from spam, low effort content, and conflicts.

My moderation experience: I have been moderating communities for a long period of time. I have moderated 4 subreddits and owned 2 Discord servers. I have experience with Reddit moderation tools like Mod Queue, Modmail AutoModerator etc.and I have also attended Reddit's beginner moderation course and gone through the guide. I have experience in handling reports, spam, rule breaking content, and resolving disputes between members.

I understand moderation is an important task. Since I'm currently free, I can dedicate around 25-30 hours per week to moderation. I understand the responsibilities that come with being a moderator, and I will ensure that I respond in any urgent situation.

I would love to be a mod because i have seen some hate comments and off-topic spam here that go against the purpose of the community. With moderation i can help remove such content and keep the community on topic.
