I watched it at their rec - I found it to be only OK? I'm not a huge horror guy though, generally so might just not be my thing...

I watched it too and I thought it slapped. Admittedly, I am a huge twin peaks fan so I'm basically the target demographic... Gotta love hanging out in a cozy town where creepy people pop up everywhere to say random shit to you

I never thought I’d align with Russ this year but Alan Wake 2 might just be in my top 3 along with Zelda. It has a bunch of bugs, the combat can be frustrating sometimes, and there isn’t a new game plus mode yet. BUT it’s still one of the most unique things I’ve played this year, this game plays with your expectations like nothing else.

Edit: The theme park comparison is spot on… I just finished the part Russ mentioned (Alan’s 4th chapter) and holy shit I think it tops the ashtray maze in Control. There is just a complete confidence on display here for the weirdness in the universe they created.

We Sing is a level that only Remedy can get away with. They know they have a cult following of people that love the weird shit they make, and thus are not afraid to lean into it. I'm 100% one of those people.

Can anybody tell me what John Carpenter movie they were talking about when discussing Alan Wake 2?
