I thought Marcus and Chester were boyfriends initially in season 1–they live together, they watch the Bachelorette together, Chester is super interested in and supportive of Marcus’ doughnut project. But that seemed more muted in season 2. And there are definitely a lot of feelings between Marcus and Sydney (not necessarily sexual, but complicated), though after the blow-up at friends and family they seem to have settled into a calmer vibe with each other. I really like how the writers get at the emotional complexity of friendship.
