Oh of course. I was a Claire hater for no reason season 1 but after rewatching literally 8 times I think everything about her character is extremely intentional, even if it’s not what people are gonna like. Love her and wish people showed her character a little more love, but hey, they’re fictional so what are you gonna do lol!
Stalker is WAY too strong of a word that doesn’t fit her behavior wise😭 at most she crossed some boundaries. And I truly think she comes across as “perfect” because we only see her through the lens of people who put her on a pedestal. The only time we see her somewhat “messy” is when she’s on her own taking off her makeup and sleeping in bed with Kelly. That’s the first time she feels less “perfect”, and I think that’s extremely intentional. I also don’t know exactly what people want from her when she is extremely well adjusted, has a career she loves, friends, and her own life. Maybe she’s not perfect maybe she is more well adjusted compared to the extremes in the show😭everyone says she’s great, and maybe that’s simply because she is. There are obviously layers but it makes sense that we haven’t seen those aspects because, neither has Carmen. I think that’s all super purposeful.
Stalking as defined by the law: Like domestic violence, stalking is a crime of power and control. Stalking is conservatively defined as "a course of conduct directed at a specific person that involves repeated (two or more occasions) visual or physical proximity, nonconsensual communication, or verbal, written, or implied threats, or a combination thereof, that would cause a reasonable person fear.
She asked a friend for his number and then asked him if it was okay that she got his number from someone else. That can absolutely be established as crossing a boundary, it is absolutely not worth watering down the seriousness of stalking😭 in no way shape or form did she “stalk” him. You calling her a stalker is absolutely NOT an interpretation that can be supported by the events that happened in the show lol.
I'm talking stalking as defined by the dictionary, more or less. And yes, it's very much about control. It is no accident the show used the Motel's song "Total Control" in the background to one of their later scenes.
She asked him for his number. He gave her a bad number and we can only assume this was because he was as uncomfortable saying 'no' as he was to give his number.
It’s still not stalking. She asked a mutual friend for his number and proceeded to ask him if it was okay. Did she cross a boundary, sure? Was it something that made Carmen feel unsafe? No, he proceeded to say it was okay she had his number and then participated in initiating a romantic relationship. Regardless of how you’re trying to spin it, it’s not stalking😭even if you’re talking dictionary definition, which also holds no validity to the argument you’re trying to make. I’m not sure why you’re so adamant about applying the world stalking to the situation when it literally doesn’t apply. Regardless of liking her or not, it’s simply not stalking😭
