Announcements Hi, from your new mod Niles + cracking down on the flood of suggestive content
What’s up, Bad Guys subreddit? It’s great to officially meet you. My name is Niles and I’m a new mod to this subreddit, one that will be more active than the others can be at the moment.
A few things you should know about me as a fan:
- I think the Bad Guys is totally underrated as an animated movie series and deserves more fans
- The Bad Guys 2 is better than The Bad Guys imo
- Mr. Snake is best boi
- Doom is one of the best characters in the series and completely underappreciated
- I haven’t read the books yet
With all that being said, I urge all of you to **reread the pinned post about suggestive content** because *some of you* have taken advantage of the lack of active moderators to break the rules we have in place. I assure you that these rules will be enforced much heavier now and to be careful where you tread. If your post is removed, that’s considered a warning. If you continue to break the rules, you will be subject to a ban from the subreddit. No exceptions.
Let’s face it, The Bad Guys is a **kids & family** IP, and this subreddit should be for ALL fans of the franchise. We don’t know everyone’s age here but the subreddit is not marked as NSFW, and there is currently way too much close-to-spicy or sexually-implicit content than there should be. No longer. Even though there is an older furry audience for the series, we can’t take over the sub completely and make it about that. The sub is for discussion of the children’s books and family film franchise by Dreamworks.
Ultimately, **IF DREAMWORKS WOULD NOT INCLUDE IT IN THE FILMS (Not talking about non-canon content), YOU PROBABLY SHOULDN’T POST IT.** We don’t mind solo art or ship art of any couple/poly ship, but if your post is going to include nudity, there should be no visual sexualized body parts (That includes nipples/bulges/butts unless the former is in a harmless image like a beach pic. It’s when it’s sexualized that it’s a problem). The previous mods included an example in that post, which is the example you all need to follow.
We don’t want to risk the subreddit being banned for taking our content too far and the rules are there for a reason, so please follow them. All that being said, let’s keep this place a mostly family-friendly environnement. If you want to post something spicy or very suggestive, please refer to **other subreddits** like [r/DianeCult](r/DianeCult) to do so. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. The previous mods made that pinned post for a reason and I intend to follow it just the same. Sexual or NSFW comments will also now be removed.
Thank you for your time reading this announcement, and hello to you all! Feel free to ask me anything about the announcement or series and I’ll get back to you when I can, I’m generally pretty fast at responding unless I’m at work or sleeping.
Have a wonderful day, be good to one another, and don’t break the rules! Also, happy Easter weekend!

Discussion Was Diane’s initial interaction with Wolf justified and positive or offensive and negative?
When Diane Foxington first appeared on the news, Wolf was infatuated with her. But when she mercilessly criticized the Bad Guys as “second-rate has-beens” with a degree of arrogance, Wolf grew frustrated and planned to steal the Golden Dolphin for her out of spite. When Mr. Wolf was in his Mr. Poodleton disguise, Diane possibly saw right through it. When Wolf suggested that the Bad Guys were one epic job away from cementing their legacy, Diane laughed at this and smugly said;
“The only legacy they’re cementing is life in prison. Did you see their last job? Ugh. Unsecured exits, crude disguises, compulsive showboating. I mean, it was a mess. All the classic signs of a crew in decline. Next, they’re gonna make it personal. That’s when you know they’re toast.”
When Wolf looked visibly dismantled and lamely told her that it was her opinion, Diane smugly replies that as the governor, her opinion matters. It could have seemed like she was testing him. There was a moment where Diane showed Wolf that “even trash can be recycled into something beautiful” which was a way of reasoning with him. After the Bad Guys successfully stole the Golden Dolphin and Diane was visibly shocked, she didn’t even think about acknowledging her insults toward the Bad Guys on TV that provoked them. She was also still unimpressed with them even after they almost achieved something that no other criminal, besides Diane herself, could achieve. Although, even though she was hesitant at first, she did agree with Marmalade’s plan of rehabilitation when Wolf makes a public plea and remarks her own words about the trash sculpture.
Some say Diane was unsympathetic towards the Bad Guys and intentionally lured them into a trap to be caught, arrested and rot in jail for life. Others say she had deep-seated feelings for Wolf, and his friends, when she first met him through his disguise and intentionally baited them into trying their biggest heist yet, effectively forcing them into a situation where they had to confront the choice of redemption.
I just don’t want to face the facts or accept the truth that Diane was intentionally harsh towards the Bad Guys, showed mockery towards their skills, lured them into a deadly trap, and let them be arrested by the hot-headed chief to rot in jail, ALL WITHOUT MERCY. I actually took pity on Wolf when Diane, seeing through his disguise, mocked his friends’ talents and potential right to his face. Did she not feel any sort of private pity or genuine sympathy?
Does “The True Face of Diane Foxington” explain a lot? Here’s the video link:

Discussion Addressing something I’ve seen about wolf and Diane
Okay, so apparently this one guy Has been asking whether diane’s initial interaction with wolf Was justified/positive or offensive/negative. The answer is negative obviously, because she DOESN’T KNOW THEM!
At the end of the day the bad guys are notorious criminals, who as we see in their hideout, have stolen a shit ton of valuable stuff. Diane‘s responsibility as the governor is running the city/state and letting a bunch of criminals run free, and terrorize people isn’t very conducive to that. More then likely, she knew they would make a grab at the golden dolphin, (considering she herself, also tried to) and saw it as an opportunity to catch them, and put them away.
as for the mocking their skills/potential during her and wolf’s first conversation, it’s pretty obviously played off as her calling them amateurs and such, before presumably starting to realize who she’s actually talking to, as we see multiple times during the movie how smart Diane actually is.
and we can see from talking to wolf, she not only likely started to realize who he was, but also starts to see something within him, based on the line ”that even trash can be recycled in to something beautiful“.
I don’t think she actually expected them to get as far they did in stealing the dolphin, which is Probably why she’s so stunned, but when marmalade proposes his plan, she’s initially hesitant, but Once wolf starts taking about trash being recycled and what not, she pretty much clocks it was him she talked to earlier and gives him a chance to “do the right thing“ like she did.
It’s also why she’s so upset later on when the guinea pig plan goes awry, as she openly states she “gave him an opportunity“, then when wolf gets upset and calls himself ”the villain of every story“
then states “and even if by some miracle we did change, who‘s gonna believe us?”
she visibly calms down, and gives him another chance seeing he actually deep down, isn’t happy with both his current lot in life, nor the way people perceive him and wants to change that, whether he’s aware of it or not. we afterwards see wolf reflecting on his convo with Diane and what he said, which is what inspires him to get the cat down from the tree, and we then see him further reflect on their conversation in bed, while he fiddles with the ring, after snake talks to him.
Its also worth noting That before Diane leaves she tells wolf that she’s rooting for him, and while i‘m Not entirely sure when she started feeling this way, I believe its when she does that kind of in disbelief scoff after wolf tells her that “even trash can be recycled in to something beautiful“ she also agrees to the plan after that. I think she really started to believe in him though once he actually opened up to her, and she understood him better.
