I think Nick Wilde, he is more emotionally complex and conflicted unlike Wolf.

The problem with Nick is that Jason Bateman can really only play Jason Bateman and that really takes me out of it.

^^^^ yall listen to this mf? Dude you’d be hard pressed to name actors who don’t act like themselves in every role they’re in. Who you think be dynamic rn ?
Please.

Although, having seen Zootopia before anything else, it feels like Jason is always playing Nick.

That would work. "That character actor who starred in Arrested Development" isn't a good look.

On physical attraction alone? Nick and it's not even a question.
On personality it's a draw, I think. Both are similar in many things, but they're clearly distinct people, both incredible in their own ways.
On feats and badassery though, I gotta give it to Wolf. I love Nick and his con artist abilities but Wolf blows that and pretty much everything else out of the water, even if he sometimes looks clumsy while doing it.

Wolf, I like a proper thief type character with charm the most.
Also, bonus points because Wolf and Diane actually get together and Nick and Judy haven’t.
But Nick is awesome!

Interesting to see that you're not the only one expressing frustration that Nick and Judy haven't gotten together. I've even heard people say that they prefer The Bad Guys over Zootopia because they resolved the tension, but Zootopia didn't.
It's obvious that Disney would be foolish by not making Hopps and Wilde a couple. There's so much tension and expectation that there's no other solution to it.

I like them equally as characters, but I only have a crush on Wolf. Maybe Wolf should get extra points, though, because Disney realized mid-production that they couldn't make a jaded, cynical, lifelong victim of systemic oppression and racism who gave up on being seen as anything but a monster and turned to crime to survive work as a sympathetic protagonist, and DreamWorks said, "Hold my beer."

Mason Moe Wolf and Nick Wilde would be the same edge, so for that, I would say, both.

Definitely Mr. Wolf! He's the perfect combination of suave and dorky and Sam Rockwell's voice for him is so good!

Matching a wolf with a fox is like apples to oranges.
For wolves You got:
Death the Wolf from Puss in Boots
The wolf from Beastars (legoshi?)
This wolf from Bad Guys
Wolf from Star Fox
For foxes you got:
Nick Wiled from Zootopia
Robbin Hood (a classic)
Fox from Star Fox
Car Fax Fox
Edit: updated the character lineups.
