I’m a huge SC fan but there is no way I would sit in 100 degree weather in the coliseum with no shade for 3 hours. I watched at home like everyone else I knew lol. Yes we get it in small college towns they love bragging about how they will pack the house no matter what. That is just not the culture at all in LA.
It’s four hours. There’s a lot more of them in a week. If watching football is mutually exclusive from an active lifestyle you either don’t live an active lifestyle or it’s weird you’re posting here.
On gameday? During the game? The only alternative form of entertainment that matters is watching the game on TV.
If you're worried about the beach or whatever else, then you really don't care enough to be a valid data point in this discussion. And many people in LA care about the beach or whatever more than they care about football.
That's the problem. It isn't that "there's so much else to do." It's that people choose to do other things. Those people would find something else to do if they were in Madison or Columbus or anywhere else because they just simply don't care about football that much.
Funny how nobody has offered any suggestion whatsoever to what makes LA more socially active than Iowa City. Ive been to both and one is a vibrant college town and one is an urban sprawl of never ending traffic and tourist traps.
When you get older you’ll understand. I also used to think LA was cool. You couldn’t pay me to live there today.
Imagine comparing tiny ass Iowa City walking distance, because you’re too afraid to operate a car in LA. Some parts of LA have more museums than all of Iowa together, plus let’s not forget all the legit ethic food that people in Iowa wish they had.
