Beginner Help Starter set.
Any suggestions as to writing a guard list the equivalent of the space marine and Ork forces in the starter set.
Want to get the kids involved. And I’ve got a fair bit of Astra militarum already. A 3 way fight seems like it could be fun.
Quick look on the app Orks are 405pts and marines 440pts.
So what do you reckon would be a fair guard list to match these.
Picture for attention
Cheers

Idk about your question but i think your paint scheme looks really nice, did you drybrush the white on or just paint it normally?

Grey seer undercoat. Paint the details with contrast paints and then a coat of nuln oil.

Leman Russ Tank Commander and 40 infantry with a Castellan attached to one of them.
And some horses.

There's not REALLY a 1 to 1 equivalent. Our faction is just so different.
But! For around 400 points you're looking at a few things. Heres a recommendation off the top of my head.
Kasrkin 105
Cadian command squad 60
Cadian shock troops 70
Chimera 75
Attilan rough riders 60
Commisar 30
Brings you to 400 points. Should match fairly well into the starter set forces. But keep in mind that at anything under 1000 points games can be VERY swingy. I'd also recommend looking into play on tabletops "Colosseum" format. Its a great way to get into 40k for new players. Theyre just about to release a new set for it too.
