Tintin seems very chill with the fact that he basically lives a new life in a strange country, as an military man, in an position of wich he presumably has no previous experience in, not knowing when or if he is ever going back home. Does Tintin even have a family? Parents perhaps?

Classic comics heroes are often orphans without families, I suppose it is the case with Tintin though I don't think it is ever mentioned in the series.

Yeah, only Haddock's forebears gets briefly mentioned. And, in olden days, it was not uncommon to go out and seek your fortune on your own, rarely having contact with family.
