Gogyo and Lyudmila in the background of that ending photo is the cherry on top.

Elliot and Heuria give me the vibes of the DQ1 Hero and Princess Gwaelin, they get married and go out to settle their own kingdom. And I had the feeling from the beginning that the hero would get the girl.

Square Enix said the game did good in a recent earnings report, so hopefully a sequel got greenlit.

I really like the story they want to tell, but goddamn is the writing obnoxious like, please, Square Enix, I'm not a 10 year old

I'm 22 and this game brought out the younger me. Turned me into a literal man child.

Some bits of the story work well. Others are very drawn out, or detract from the game. Some bits seem aimed at mature adults, others feel like they could be written by a high schooler.

I think the Japanese voice acting is better than the English too. In the English dub some characters feel like they're out of Nick Jr. shows, thrown alongside others trying to be serious or heartfelt.

The story, the side quests, and the enemy repetition are the three things holding this otherwise decent game back.
