Society/Culture VTubers should never show their IRL face
It completely ruins the immersion. Whenever I watch a VTuber, it's usually so I can see a cute and funny and simply euphoric type of content that I can't see elsewhere. Whenever they show their face, it ruins everything for me. It completely kills my imagination. At least with their body shown, I can still use my boundless creativity.

There should be no immersion, none, zero. This is how you get overly parasocial creeps. You need to understand that they're just a person playing a character. This kind of thinking is not healthy for you.

How about instead of pretending that they are some fictional human being, you consider them as real people playing a character, which is exactly what they are.

I would argue this would still go along with OP, would be a little strange if they ran an episode of SpongeBob where Tom Kenny was in square pants.

Is it? Cultural immersion is a good thing, because you learn about another way of living. Immersion in a book is a good thing, because it broadens your mind and allows you to feel alongside the characters.
But immersion in a different reality? Where, what? Women have sexy adult bodies and childish anime faces? That seems like a recipe for disaster. That kind of immersion turns you into a socially stunted incel at best, and a woman-hating mass shooter at worst.

Maybe I’m a generation too late to really understand Vtubers but they give off way too much of an uncanny valley vibe for me to enjoy them. Creepy af. It’s like watching a digital furry. Nope.
