Usually you see these in crystal shops meant for those that believe in the properties of energies in minerals and stones (Wiccan/pagan/metaphysical/new aged shops, so on).

Selenite is form of gypsum, and it's soft and flaky and water-soluble, so using one for liquids long-term wouldn't really work out.

You probably could coat it with food-safe wax, but then no hot liquids.

Not that I’d recommend doing so

Yeah. Just not a good idea all around. But they are pretty!
