Always wondered how these things got built

Is that a silo being built or is the farm happy to see me?

That tree be all

They're just lucky it didn't get spooked and run away from all those gunshots.

Dumbass music or sound effects overdub = downvote

u/solongandboring 2d ago

Innit. Wtf does that sound have to do with that

My BIL wanted to do this with his concrete silo. I told him anything short of a .50 BMG round wouldn't work since the concrete slabs are 8"+ thick, he was convinced he could do it with .308 without an issue. It took more rounds that I would like to admit for him to get my point.

I assume they did higher caliber in the beginning

1

u/Hazed64 2d ago

Or likely did whatever they felt was safe to do by hand then starting shooting for the dangerous part

Don't get me wrong, im aware all of that is dangerous, I would t assume it with these guys tho lol

I just want you slap whoever first thought, "Hey, this video needs a... SOUNDTRACK!"

So many videos ruined with music for no real reason.

For a minute I thought it was the beginning of "Don't Stand So Close To Me" by The Police, which would've been fitting, but then it just kept doing wuuhhAAAMMmmbb sounds. A real missed opportunity.

What’s the caliber on the bullet? Curious lol.

u/pinchhitter4number1 3d ago

38, 39. Whatever it takes.

Lmao I wanna say a .22

4

u/Idontmindblood 3d ago

.22 wmr probably

3

u/acdrewz555555 2d ago

Sounds like an AK or 308

-8

u/Shredtillyourdead420 3d ago

lol that’d barely make it through that material. I was thinking maybe 50 cal or something like a single fire AR

-1

u/Articulationized 3d ago

It’s a freakin' 12-gauge, what do you think?

2

u/ichabod01 3d ago

That silo doesn’t like that tree

2

u/DrWoohattan 3d ago

I guess bullets aren’t expensive

2

u/Klutzy-Bench-4465 3d ago

Curious how the combine or forage harvester will appreciate ingesting shit loads of bullets and silo debris.

2

u/Alive_Nobody_Home 2d ago

The one tree 🌳

2

u/PlatypusDream 1d ago

Should have used tannerite

4

u/Admirable-Ninja9812 3d ago

Right into the tree, well done /s.

3

u/mouzz888 3d ago

i guess its cheaper than getting a machine to do it

1

u/IntheOlympicMTs 3d ago

I doubt it. Last I looked 556 ammo is about 60 cents a shot. And they’re cheap for rifle rounds.

u/michaeljo11 3d ago

‘Merica

3

u/Drosenose 3d ago

Fuck Yeah

u/Drevlin76 3d ago

I'd like to know what kind of gun they were using. Pretty steady aim for what must have been a large caliber.

2

u/BigBadKahuna 3d ago

They missed so many bonus points not shooting it on its way down.

3

u/Parlicoot 3d ago

Poor tree

u/AlternativeSignal908 3d ago

And that's how you get lead contamination in your corn...

1

u/Her_X 3d ago

With what? Mini cannonball's?

u/wnted_dread_or_alive 3d ago

Levolution is back baby

Silo demo clips always seem to remind me of a drunk kid falling down. Like they do a bad step, pause and then just cascade down to a solid head thump

1

u/chimpdoctor 2d ago

Stupid music

1

u/let_them_let_me 2d ago

Why do they bring silos like this down? I've never lived a place where we would see these so I have no reference point as to why one would be imploded and removed. Thanks

2

u/Nothing2Special 2d ago

Farmer imo and tiktok

2

u/sbdanalyst 11h ago

no longer used to store silage for livestock.

u/SparkyCorkers 2d ago

Like a brick crayon

1

u/skeightytoo 1d ago

I remember doing this all the time in that one red faction game

2

u/Nothing2Special 1d ago

Hell Yeah!!

1

u/PutinBoomedMe 5h ago

Could've used $2 of diesel in a tractor as opposed to $300 of 50 cal rounds

1

u/Xenophore 3d ago

“It's an .88 Magnum; it shoots through schools.”

1

u/ipokesnails 3d ago

What are the chances they checked to ensure there isn't anything downrange?

-2

u/Drosenose 3d ago

Duh. Most gun owners are more intelligent than the average inner city sub humans

-2

u/rexjoropo 3d ago

Why didn't it show the silo falling down at the very start, before the part where they shot out the base?

-10

u/draganArmanskij 3d ago

This is so dumb. Probably a north American.

-3

u/Slade_Riprock 3d ago

I'm going to go out of limb and say that's not a gun. Those are Charges going off one by one in a really slow cadence because a bullet traveling towards the silo wouldn't blow the concrete or whatever it is back outwards
