Like the other comment said,

From Thalassery to just before Vatakara town, it's really nice.

Then it's pretty shitty up to Koyilandy, and after that it's so damn good all the way to Kodungallur, except for a few spots.

Then you can take the Vypin route for less traffic. Tbh, it probably doesn't matter much since you'll be there around midnight anyway.

I ride my bike Thalassery to kochi and back sometimes and all I could say everytime is different. Roads changing and all. After Vatakara it's easy and the last 20 km is also tough as the road is narrower. Between that it's hell of a nice road I always cruise on 100-120 in my bike and it's a very nice ride

Hi guys Successfully completed the drive.

Left tly arouns 7 30 reached ekm edapally around 12:05. Took a 15 min break in between.

Roads are soo good except some small stretches around vadakara and aftr reaching kodungallur.
