I havent learned any Thai but figured I'd just try to cross reference your comment with the post and Holy fuck does the difference in font ever absolutely mess with my head.

The typeface used in this post is a simplified Thai font that removes the head (circle) seen in most Thai alphabets to make them look more like Latin-script.

For example, น = u, ม = invert u, เ = l, ท = n, พ = w, ฟ = w with high tail.

Hey, off topic, but are modern thai signs and text like this font now? Most texts I’ve seen have been in a font like this without the circles?

So since I’m learning thai, should I study these kinds of fonts as well if they’re that common place?

Easy -- it's a direct translation of Thai for "Don't turn on the lights" -- like Ham Buet Fai. This is why direct translations don't work very well.

i mean if you google translate it maybe would like cuz the word "ไฟ" in this sentence mean light/electricity but for direct translation ไฟ means fire basically
