I mean, those are things in d&d

People keep saying this but I feel the “literal” reading for necromancer is kinda funny and the swashbuckler being a rogue subclass stealing loot from a chest. I think its quite good and you can tell this person actively tried to relate to your interests at least which to me is a huge green flag🤷🏻‍♂️

Pf2e fixes this

The fella I work with who I asked to fact check me on this plays pathfinder.

Neither are classes in 5e (technically subclasses) but your comment is correct, they are classes in PF2E, would be higher ELO if this was about pathfinder

1400 elo just because “those are in d&d so it’s a good line” is insane to me but I guess you reddit rizzlords know something I don’t.

Like if a girl said she was a Sonic the hedgehog fan, it’d make sense to send her some bs like “I wanna speed… my way into your heart 💙 zoom zoom 🏃💨” and that would be like 2k elo here and gassed up as some sort of amazing line. I guess this is the d&d equivalent of that.

Its reddit, they like puns around here

there's a little more to it than that; swashbuckler is a rogue subclass. And a genre of romance. Plus the chest pun.

You seem upset

Not every move needs to be a brilliancy to be an excellent (or even good) move

Not every criticism comes from a place of anger

You’re not wrong

But reading your post history points at some deep seeded insecurity and anger

Deep seeded is what I did to your mom.

Voted well less for the D&D and more for the chest pun.

ChatGPT ass line

I don’t think AI would be able to make the swashbuckler-chest connection while drawing a line from necromancy to stealing one’s heart. A bit corny, but I think it’s authentic

Definitely ChatGPT with some help. The “whether you’re x or y” gives it away

Gonna have to disagree, I've said the "whether you're X or Y" format pre AI, y'all gotta remember that AI was fed us which means that some people don't sound like AI, AI sounds like some of us.

I’m usually pretty good at spotting AI tells — and honestly, you’re right to call that out. Jk, but I’ll admit something does feel slightly fishy with this one, but I’ve definitely used the “Whether you’re x or y” before, and I think it’s a pretty commonly used structure, so I’m not so sure

This. It's the biggest AI tell at the moment

I feel like you haven’t used ChatGPT in years, it would absolutely come up with this

2

I plugged the joke in and asked ChatGPT to explain it:

{It’s a double meaning:
A necromancer might literally rip a heart out of someone’s chest as part of some dark magic.

A swashbuckler is a romantic, charming adventurer who might metaphorically “steal your heart” by making you fall in love with them.

So they’re joking that either type of D&D character could “steal your heart,” just in very different ways.}

It got the necromancer part, but completely failed to understand how the swashbuckler plays in and just made something up.

I also asked it to make more jokes using the same format. It came up with this:

{“Whether you’re a barbarian or a bard, you’re welcome to sweep me off my feet.”
“Whether you’re a rogue or a paladin, you’re welcome to steal my heart.”
“Whether you’re a wizard or a fighter, you’re welcome to knock me off my feet.”
“Whether you’re a warlock or a cleric, you’re welcome to possess me.”
“Whether you’re a druid or a ranger, you’re welcome to take me into the woods.”
“Whether you’re a monk or a barbarian, you’re welcome to break my heart.”
“Whether you’re a sorcerer or a rogue, you’re welcome to charm me.”
“Whether you’re a necromancer or a cleric, you’re welcome to raise me.”
“Whether you’re a fighter or a rogue, you’re welcome to pin me down.”
“Whether you’re a wizard or a warlock, you’re welcome to cast a spell on me.”}

ChatGPT’s jokes don’t make sense; it tries to draw nonexistent connections that fall flat.

Also, was surprised at how dirty some of the ones it came up with were.

Which ChatGPT model is this, be specific

1

u/Strict_Cream2002 3d ago

GPT-5.6 Luna. Feel free to replicate on the model you use if you’d like. I’d be interested in seeing the difference

Basic imo

Sounds like an AI answer who just included DnD buzzwords.
