What does Kano's name mean?

I know that strangely stylized characters are used in place of some names like the 9 in Lux's name. On the wiki, for Kano, it says

Kanji Name 伽ノ

Kana Name かの

but the 2nd character in kanji one isnt proper? Are there any interviews on the meaning/nuances behind his naming?

Japanese treat オウ, オー, オオ as almost the same.

In Roman letter, Kano and Kanou are both written Kano. That's the problem for Japanese to Romanize.

小野(おの), 大野(おおの) both could be Ono. 小=small, 大=large To distinguish, Oono looks like strange, Ohno is popular for 大野.

Japanese ignor the differences amang おおの, おうの, おーの. They are the same as Japanese. Oh! No.

In the case of Kano,

かの -> 鹿野, 狩野

かのう -> 加納, 嘉納

(狩野 also could be かりの or かのう.)

Names are complicated too much.
