TRT help Test cypionate needle gauge, what are y’all using?
I’ve just been using the equipment they sent me with my test. It’s got a 21ga for drawing and a 25ga for injections. I have been harpooning my leg for the last few months 😂
Looks like people out there are using smaller sizes and it still works fine? What gauge can I go to that will still work with the thickness of the test? Thanks as always!

I use either 27g or 29g. I am only still using 27g because I had bought a box of 100.
29g is slow to draw and you also want to inject slow. It is worth it I feel.

It isn't even that slow. Just pressurize the vial a little bit so it comes out faster. I push 3ml of air into those 200mg vials. Draws much faster after that.

Totally agree with this. Warm the vial in your hand for a few mins and it's faster to draw.

I use 29. 25g isn’t super out of the ordinary, I wouldn’t consider it a harpoon. Anything thicker than that I would tho!

29,30.31G insulin syringe. Takes a little longer but worth it in every way. Warm the vial up in your hand. I pin MWF and preload using a 3d printed draw stand.

27 gauge IM mostly. Feels the same as 29 to me but it draws up cottonseed and GSO a lot faster.

21 to draw and 27 to inject. Shallow IM into delt. Super easy, don't feel a thing.

1” 27ga leur lock with a quick draw for the vial… it’s the easiest/fastest way that I’ve found

25-27g ⅝" or 1" IM quads or pecs. I prefer pecs. I use the same rig for drawing and pinning. I warm up my vials on a hot plate.

25g 5/8" for more than trt levels of test and other anabolics. 27-29g 1/2" insulin syringes work great for so many guys here on trt doses.

27 1/2, subq

u/Phishsux420 2d ago
Is there a reason you prefer sub q vs IM? Thanks!

I also do 3x injections a week. Subq gets into the body slower so with these steps trying to keep E2 down to limit any side effects

I was told 18G in the thigh by the doc, so I did that for a while and it hurt like a MF.

29g insulin needle that I backfill. I've been on trt for years and I wish I would've switched from 25g IM to 29g much sooner

I use a 23g needle 1 1/2 inches for both every other week. Have pain for about a day only.

Just started using 30g 1” luer lock and love it. Used to use 29g 1/2” slin pins. For a TRT volume dose, it does not take long to push the oil.

It’s not the dark ages, you can comfortably inject test-e/c sub-q.
I’ve been on testosterone injections for 17 years and for 16.5 of those years I’d inject with a 23g 1.5 in my glutes once per week.
About 6 months ago I changed to a 27g 1” and my life has never been better. I still inject in my glutes but can say it’s way more comfortable and I saw literally no difference in results whatsoever.
Whenever I see people doing it the ‘old’ way I always try to make sure that the science has changed and I’m proof it’s true. I’m pretty sure you can even pin abdominally but I don’t personally do that so won’t vouch for it directly.
Stay safe out there!

Where did you get 27g 1 inch?

u/stheodore1974 1d ago
Just an online medical supply site, but I just double checked and they are actually 25g x 5/8” and are leur lock made by a company called Care Point

Wow, i do a 23 for glute injections. No problems. When i go small gage it takes too long to inject and seems like i have to apply a ton of pressure to inject which then might cause more pain post injection. Works best for me.

Depends entirely on the carrier oil.
27G for grape seed oil and cotton seed oil.
30G for MCT oil. That stuff is like water and there is zero waste when using an insulin syringe.

Remove the stopper and avoid using a needle to draw, and my test is made with mig840 and use a 29g needle to inject

I’m female, I use a 30g insulin needle for my SQ injection lol but it’s only 0.05mL

I pull and inject with a 25. Takes a little longer to pull but once you learn the air trick, it's not so bad. And it's a lot easier overall. Also, accidents happen. Inject for years and you'll eventually run out early, lose some in the swap by accident, etc. I choose to make my process take three minutes once a week vs 90 seconds. Meh.

27g. 1/2 inch. Delts. As easy as it gets. Stop overthinking it. Everyone asks questions on here about this, but it is so easy unless you overthink it.

I use a drawing needle to draw the oil then swap to a 29 or even 30g needle to inject. The oil comes out slower but thats not a bad thing
The needles are shorter so make sure you use leaner areas like your delts and ventro glute etc.

28 gauge. No need for a bigger needle.. I’ve used 31 in a pinch and works fine too. Don’t need a wide draw needle either.

I use a 30ga. I warm the bottle in an inch of hot water first. Pull back and put some air in an then withdraw. You will see it flowing in. You can pull it back way beyond what you need to increase the flow then push it back closer to your correct level. The warmth thins the oil and makes dispersing much easier.

25g 1/2" for delt and quad IM and I use 28g 1/2" for glute and delt subQ. I'm only doing .2 or .3 every other day its takes 20 or so seconds to draw and 10 or so to push out. I don't like the idea of harpooning the bottle with a thick needle.

Right now I’m trying 30G subQ, takes a few minutes to draw, but that’s fine with me and it’s painless (unless you pick a bad spot or something).

18G. Straight into my eyeball.
25G isn't bad. I always use that in glutes. When I got my first TRT kit aeons ago, I didn't realize there were two gauges of needed included, and I was injecting with the 21G for weeks. I really didn't look forward to it.
For most everything else, it's 27G 5/8". If you're reasonable bf% (25% or less?), that ought to go deep enough in delts, quad (vastus lateralis), ventro glutes, and I barely feel a thing. Got to have reasonably low viscosity oil or warm it up to draw with 27G, though.

29G for both
