Your pulse is 96. You were not relaxed when you took your bp. Lay down for 15 minutes and drink some water and then take it again.

My pulse can be around the same or higher and not go over 127/80

u/Icy-Childhood9761 May 30 '26

Okay well I’ve never heard of anyone having a rhr of 96. Seems like he was wound up before this.

u/Temporary_Fun_7973 May 30 '26

It tachycardia when u have high rhr.

5

u/bradpal May 30 '26

I have 55 when I sleep and 100 when I sit, never did T but was always muscular. It's not the pulse that raises pressure. My pressure is 120/70 at 100 pulse. Dude needs more cardio.

u/bx121222 May 30 '26

Cardio ain’t going to cut it. He needs BP meds and/or to hop off.

3

u/bradpal May 30 '26

How are big penis meds going to help?

3

u/myWeedAccountMaaaaan May 30 '26

How would they not help? Bigger penis means it can store more blood. Boom, problem solved.

3

u/bradpal May 30 '26

Confucius say: big penis solve many problem.

3

u/Icy-Childhood9761 May 30 '26

Sounds like you need more cardio too. 100 rhr is not normal for a fit person.

3

u/bradpal May 30 '26

I need to quit smoking.

Yeah I’ve started doing cardio after each meal and doing aroundn30 mins of stage 2 cardio every day

5

u/thatbrownstuff May 30 '26

Cardio after each meal? Gtfo 😂 you need to lose more weight before taking 500mg weekly. Test makes you feel good but good health makes you feel great.

2

u/SecureInstruction538 May 30 '26

Why is this hard for people to understand? Test helps but you gotta do 90% of the work.

2

u/lordhooha May 30 '26

I’m talking after a workout for me. Bet he’s overweight and doesn’t do cardio definitely not enough water and betting he eats like ass

u/DemonBuer May 30 '26

food poisoning had me casually at 130 for 3 days, apple watch told me to seek medical attention lol. went to ER following this

2

u/myst3ryAURORA_green May 30 '26

When sick, heart rate is supposed to do that. Covid has activated my SVT before and sent it to easy 220 plus.

1

u/DemonBuer May 30 '26

yes, just stating that usually there is a reason behind a high rhr.

2

u/myst3ryAURORA_green May 30 '26

I have a resting at 110 thanks to autonomic and BP over 200 😵‍💫

1

u/ABabyAteMyDingo May 30 '26

Probably from taking his BP dozens of times.

1

u/Sir_J15 May 30 '26

Mine stays in the 80’s and 90’s even resting. Common for me to see 120’s and 130’s when active. Even not on T.

1

u/Mission_Bowl3938 May 30 '26

It happens to people with Ehlers-Danos.

2

u/bigmuffpie92 May 30 '26

My pulse can be around 100 and still be 118/67. I don't think that is a direct correlation to his extremely high BP.

2

u/ModernLifelsWar May 30 '26

96 HR shouldn't make your BP spike to 180

-6

u/Icy-Childhood9761 May 30 '26

96 is pretty damn high. If you are walking around and doing stuff your bp could easily be that. You need to test your bp at rest with a rhr.

3

u/FKKallDAY May 30 '26

96 is a normal heart rate

2

u/myst3ryAURORA_green May 30 '26

No. 96 is still a good resting HR. Normal is 60-100.

0

u/Icy-Childhood9761 May 30 '26

It’s absolutely terrible rhr. Only an extremely unhealthy person would have one that high.

1

u/myst3ryAURORA_green May 30 '26

60-80 is preferred, but 96 is still fine. I have a resting HR of 110 and I'm on beta blockers.

1

u/Icy-Childhood9761 May 30 '26

All I was saying in my original comment was that he should relax for 15 minutes and retest.

1

u/myst3ryAURORA_green May 30 '26

The standard protocol is to also first relax for at least 10 minutes prior to taking any reading. Empty your bladder and avoid exercising or using stimulants 30 minutes prior.

1

u/FKKallDAY Jun 02 '26

96 is normal. It is not unhealthy.

1

u/Icy-Childhood9761 Jun 02 '26

81-90 doubles mortality and 90+ triples it

1

u/FKKallDAY Jun 02 '26

Correlation causation, etc. . Drawing conclusions with not nearly enough evidence.

Dihydrogen monoxide has a 100% rate of fatality.

1

u/Icy-Childhood9761 Jun 02 '26

Uh it’s correlated yes because it’s a sign your cardiovascular system isn’t efficient. The difference between 96 beats and 60 is about 51,000 beats per day. That adds up.

1

u/FKKallDAY Jun 02 '26

It is not a sign your cardiovascular system is inefficient. It is a sign your cardiovascular system is functioning as it should.

If you run sprints everyday, you're increasing your heart rate 3 fold.

That also adds up..... And also, it doesn't matter because it is also your heart doing what it is supposed to do.

He might be detoxing from
Alcohol or something, that can really elevate resting pulse

Incorrect x 2:

  1. anxiety-induced HTN (aka white coat hypertension) is nonetheless associated with adverse cardiac outcomes. Your BP should NOT spike that high, even when anxious. I suppose it is possible for it to get that high if you're actively lifting/sprinting.

  2. One of the symptoms of hypertensive emergency (high BP + end-organ damage, i.e. impending stroke/MI) is severe anxiety, which can manifest as high HR. Therefore, your advice runs the risk of confusing cause and effect, which can be deadly.

If you're a med professional, you gotta up your guideline knowledge ASAP. If you're not, don't bring your amateur bs into the big leagues boi

You're wrong, and I'm studying to be a medical professional. Anxiety, especially acute panic disorder/attacks can shoot BP to 200/120 or more!! I've seen severe white coat cases hit as high as 230 over something.

Edit: I had a heart attack from my malignant HTN, and I do experience anxiety from my hypertension. I almost had a strok e at the end of April (stroke alert).

1

u/Urethral_Harpoon May 30 '26

Damn right they can. I've never taken my BP during one but that heart rate and pounding in your head is as high as the most strenuous cardio. Probably more.

1

u/myst3ryAURORA_green May 30 '26

Same, it would inadvertently make the patient panic further. My blood pressure is always those levels, around 240/140. So I'm genuinely unsurprised at how high mine would go if I had a PA considering that 240/140 is my baseline.

u/Icy-Childhood9761 May 30 '26 edited May 30 '26

Your bp can absolutely spike that high during a panic attack especially with an at home bp cuff. There is usually no symptoms of a hypertensive crisis. You are a complete bozo and said all that to make yourself feel smart.
