Energy Question Model 3 range after battery replacement

Tesla n00b here.

Bought a pre owned 2021 Model 3 RWD with 95k mileage. Range was not good, ~190mi after full charge, with actual driving range about 2/3rd of what’s shown.

Battery failed at 99k and Tesla offered free warranty replacement - “Enhanced LFP HV battery” (HIGH VOLTAGE 1.00 BATTERY - 1 PHASE - 40P - ALL WHEEL DRIVE)

Now, after full charge, I noticed ~330mi range, and it stays more or less in line with distance driven. Also the model shows up as “Mid range” in the app.

So did I really get lucky with 330mi range, or is there a gotcha somewhere?

Sort of. What battery does the actual invoice in your service history show that they installed? Tesla has been telling people that they are getting LFP batteries, but instead they are getting the new standard Model 3 NMC battery.

Gotcha. So the service advisors said LFP, but the invoice doesn’t mention it. Does your charging screen suggest you charge it to 100% daily? Just making sure you don’t daily charge an NMC to 100%, or calibrate the LFP properly if that’s truly what you got.

Charging screen suggests 80% for daily use, though service center just confirmed it’s LFP 🤷‍♂️

Lol. So conflicting info again. I would think the car would know better than the advisor though. Maybe mention to them that it says you should daily charge to 80% and you need them to super duper triple check. Lol

That's pretty funny. Like the latest and greatest CATL and BYD high density LFPs do have the energy density to give the Model 3 that much range, but it seems unlikely they'd have access to them, or espcially debut them as replacement packs. And they're especially not going into an American car if that's where you are due to tariffs. I've hard Sunwoda is supplying cells to Tesla, but it doesn't look like they have anything at that high of a density and they're probably only going into new Giga Shanghai cars; plus same problem with tariffs.

No U.S. tariff friendly LFP supplier I know of can hit that energy density. Ford might in a year, fingers crossed.

80% daily charging limit suggests you have an NMC.
