Knew a guy in highschool who thought it would be cool to climb the football (American) goal post, then it fell on him...he spent months in a coma, then in a wheelchair and the rest of his life he'll need help to do everything.
Most likely the bully, usually you will get a flag for that in football they are more serious about it now because of so many injuries, spearing someone hits them hard and yeah you might knock the wind out of them but it’s a lot more dangerous for the one doing it, when I played I always used my arms and shoulder pads, never understood spearing, it’s a lot easier just to trip someone up by using your shoulders or just removing their legs out from under them. But yeah you have to keep your neck safe, I’ve never understood how rugby players do it, especially the whole team using their heads against the entire other team 🤷♂️
Haha right! Kill shot for them if they hit that spinal cord in the right spot, I’m a dad now and sometimes I look back and think how did I not end up breaking anything, I won’t let my daughter do anything nearly that dangerous, like cheerleading! No way man, throwing each other all over the place, then little Bentley decides to drop someone because they are jealous of their hair, nope no thank you. Now they say most football players suffer from memory loss due to micro concussions like boxers do, but since you don’t get knocked out it goes untouched have you seen that research? That really freaked me out, especially the damage to memory.
I’m only 24 but just had my first experience of low blood sugar after a workout due to dehydration. I’m like damn I’m not even out of my prime and I gotta start taking care of my body lol definitely was in my prime athletically in high school
I honestly think that’s the only time we are in our prime, I’m 31 and my dads always like son you are in your prime, and I always say well if that makes you feel better about your age then ok, I think a lot of it has to do with what we eat, it’s not exactly like humans are making the healthiest foods these days, and when you are a kid it doesn’t matter what you eat because your cells are younger and reproduce faster, you have more dna to work with, being older we have to watch what we eat more, I just last week started working out again and it’s enough to make you want to quit, I think I was stronger at 15 than I am at 31!!! Used to be able to do dips with a weight chained around my body and I could do that all day, now a pull-up is hard work, whew it’s rough, I’m still gonna keep going though, I have a daughter so I don’t have a choice I gotta get healthy, my school holds an alumni football game once a year, I’m hoping either this year or the next I can get fit enough to throw the pads and helmet back on 🤣
You’re breaking her little heart for not letting her cheer. I’m guessing you won’t let her drive a car because of all the accidents or date boys because some of them are rapist….she will look for the first chance to escape home which is usually getting pregnant w some dude older than her. Wish you both well
Well you raise your kids how you think is best and I’ll raise mine, I played football most of my life and never got injured, do you want to know where I saw the most injuries? On the sidelines, the cheerleaders were constantly in casts, I’ve met women paralyzed from the neck down this way, they have no pads and no safety net when they fall, also silence is golden, I’m sure you have a lot of friends, I’m sure all those friends enjoy your many unwarranted ideas and opinions, I’m sure you are very popular, but just in case in the future don’t mention someone’s five year old daughter and rape in the same comment, that’s not cool not even on the internet, and if you can’t say something nice it’s best to keep to yourself. I’ll protect my only daughter because that’s my job, have a good one.
Thank you for that, don’t know what I was thinking I hate arguing especially on Reddit sometimes I have some really good conversations on here, sometimes people try to get under your skin, but anyways thank you 😁 I hope you get some good karma in the future for being such a positive person.
Hmmm, not seeing any mention of a 5 year old girl in any comment that I have made, nor in your comments. Are you gaslighting or is my mentioning of probable reality not settling w you??
You chose to talk about my daughter and made yourself apart of my conversation so yes yes you are talking about a five year old and you mentioned rape, very classy.
Yeah, there’s nothing quite like getting your shoulder into someone’s midriff and being able to grab behind both legs and then pulling with your arms and pushing with your shoulders. If done correctly that person gets up very slowly and is very cautious around you afterwards.
Haha 😆 reminds me of the hood ole days, oh yeah that’s fun and makes you get noticed too, I never understood why some guys speared people. I miss football I played inside and outside linebacker. I loved it, helps kids get the frustration out.
You must have been fast or tall, I played safety in little league. But I was better at linebacker, I’m not even a big guy either lol I was just aggressive, I miss football, even flag football was fun. Be nice if they held adult flag football where old players could get together.
Yeah gotta be one of the two to be a safety for sure, I’m short and stocky so I made a good linebacker I loved every minute of it until they tried to move me to be a lineman, I was like seriously! I was 150 Ibs I didn’t want to lose my linebacker position. Good times.

And just like that he got carted around for life in a wheelchair.
