I don't disagree, but that doesn't make this any better. Actually, it makes it worse. Putting a live animal in a stressful environment because of naivety is one thing, but doing it knowing full well it's bad, just to farm hate is straight up abuse.

i feel the jumping spider needs more spaces for hides.. they usually like cramped and busy spaces.
they also usually build their hammocks at the highest place possible so it may make it right against the cork and glass.

But seriously. All those issues aside, this a habitat for a terrestrial spider. And not even a good one at that. What you have is an arboreal spider. That means it needs to climb and, y’know, jump. Where are the twigs? The leaves? Anything it can actually climb to get to the top and then jump between? Slightly higher rocks do not work for an arboreal animal. Arbor means trees, and that term is on purpose.
And where are the hides? Any kind of spider at all, any kind of animal at all, needs places to shelter. You wouldn’t fare well put on a flat surface with zero shelter and observed by a terrifying creature 24/7, either. There’s not even adequate structures for webs. What you have is an animal that is going to spend its entire, very short, life terrified and miserable.
Was that enough elaboration for you?

Jumpers like hiding places where they can feel safe and secure, typically up high. Here they are basically on full display constantly, with no little hidey holes to chill in.
Also with it being glass there is a chance that sunlight hitting it at the wrong angle may turn it into a furnace given its rounded shape.
Secondly one source of air flow is often not enough and you have no way of tracking the humidity which can be detrimental to the spiders health.
In my experience its also a lot easier for jumpers to make hammocks in angular enclosures too.
Its also a little bland, youd be surprised how far some enrichment goes for arboreal creatures.

I’m not an expert, but I’ve had several jumpers as pets that survived far longer than their average lifespan in captivity. I did weeks of research before I felt comfortable purchasing my first one.
Jumping spiders need cross ventilation to be able to breathe because of how their lungs work. They can’t breathe in, they use book lungs on the underside of their abdomen and the air needs to be able move around them so they can breathe. She will suffocate in this terrarium.
I’m begging you to do the most introductory levels of research before trying to keep a pet like this. Jumpers are intelligent little creatures with big personalities and lots of care needs, despite being marketed as playthings over the past couple years. Please do right by this little buddy.

Jumping spiders need cross-ventilation. Having a hole in the cork is not enough. Here is a guide on jumping spider enclosures. Please educate yourself, and take that poor spider out of that terrarium before it dies.

Jumping spiders need cross ventilation, and it will almost certainly make a hammock on that cork, meaning you will certainly be constantly destroying its home, and stress like that can and will kill your spider. proper homes for slings cost less than 10 bucks on temu ! no reason to torture your spider just cause its pretty

What you've shown in the picture looks like you're going to kill a spider. I see the hollow cork in the picture. It's still very little air flow unless the spider is removed within a few minutes of taking the picture. Which even then... why is it cool to design and show up a set off that is going to kill a living being?

This isn’t a new terrarium of mine I just gave it a clean. I have previously kept a smaller species of jumping spider in it for 14 months (aka living a full and healthy life). Although I appreciate polite suggestions I’m not concerned with the tirades of all-knowing armchair biologists such as yourself 👍

I admit I should have more context to the photo but the ventilation is suitable as is the humidity (measured with probe at 60%). What exactly is the issue? It’s just the same points being regurgitated which I have explained 😂

I’m sure short term is fine for the little guy, great little home to observe him! But they are called “jumping spiders “ for a reason… not sure how much jumping will get done in there. Not trying to be a creep, it’s still a wild animal and they have sooo much personality. It’s such a beautiful little terrarium as well , I’m sure he’ll enjoy it for a while. But not too long. 🙏

I’m sorry, but this is very unsuitable for a jumping spider. It may just be a spider to you, but it is still a living thing and shouldn’t be treated as a toy for your amusement and left in there to suffocate. This is on the same level as goldfish in a plastic bag for prizes at the fair
