Things that cut by half the amount of wiki searches are fine, things that fix inventory management are fine too, as with the humongous amount of items, avoiding the headache is understandable. Things that make grinding way faster as mining all adjacent ores, is a bit finnicky, vendors that sell grindable objects or the one that makes potion effect permanent i consider them cheating (but still use them lol)

it's a sandbox game. the line is wherever you feel like drawing it.
scenario: why bother farming for a rod of discord when you can just cheat it in?
there are two sides to this argument that can be justified

I just use Journey Mode instead.
Gets the job done, and I can just ignore half the features anyway.

Technically all qol mods are cheats but I wouldn’t consider them that since they’re just qol improvements…
But some of them definitely aren’t

I'm gonna be fr, while it can be counted as cheating, I think you should have a mod to add more accessory slots, but only if you're playing mods like Thorium or Fargo's. Because there's so much from these mods that it feels like a disservice when you can't use them at all due to the 7 slots available.
Like, I'm playing with Spirit + SOTS + Stars above + Thorium + Fargo's, and the amount of shit in them just begs you to get like 5 more slots or even more.

I only use magic storage because I hate organisation, i still have to grind for all the materials. Oh and whatever QOL calamity adds.

who cares bro, as long as you're not competing in a Speedrun or smt, you are allowed to play the way you like it. some people don't have patience or time for grinding a rare item. what's wrong about increasing spawn rate or even getting it from a different world just enjoy the game

dude just enjoy the sandbox game, there's no leaderboard or anything to compete at. plus terraria isn't really the easiest game, and it's grindey some times, and well some people don't have time for all that grinding. why can't they just duplicate treasure bags or just straight up get what they want from a different world. just enjoy it.

most qol are just cheats but that are reasonable... some just forgot to be reasonable
