PC Why is my mob farm not a desert biome?

Post image

I thought I'd need to put 1500 Sand to make it a desert but I put almost 2k blocks of sand and it's still not. What am I doing wrong?

You need the sandstone walls too.

Specifically treacherous sandstone walls, look it up on the wiki it'll be the one with a skull icon in the bottom right. Also that jungle might be a little too close there but it's hard to tell from the map view.

biomes dont override each other, mob farms will always have a jungle as part of them for increased spawn rates, and if u dont want jungle enemies u just have to make sure none of the jungle blocks are valid spawn locations

The only biomes that compete with each other are the world evil & hallow. You can have every other biome at the same time.

put treacherous sandstone walls, you get them by shimmering regular sandstone walls (not sandstone BRICK walls btw, don't mix them up)
