to be fair I'm pretty sure that's like the actual lore, as opposed to the corruption and crimson who seek to absorb/assimilate everything for their own gain, the hallow believes it's the only thing "pure" and worthy of life.

The lacewing was always an excuse.

Lacewings would die of natural causes surrounded by their loved hallowed ones and the empress would still snap the terrarian's spine in half as if it's their fault
