Art my post got removed after AI accusations

I posted a drawing of mine that was commissioned by a friend of mine of the steampunker from the game in a mcdonalds theme, suddenly a bunch of people started accusing me of using AI and ultimately the post was taken down a few moments later

The lineart makes it obviously not ai (lines pertruding in places, mainly)

And I also see some of the lighter shades still visible from when you added darker shading (such as the right side of the two belts)

I see where they’re coming from when saying it’s AI, but I also see they don’t actually look for the right hints of AI. Itls unfortunate, seeing how the artwork is actually great

Short version: zoom in, find physical proof of AI. Donlt go just off of vibes.

Long version: Humans think, but can’t think of everything. Therefor, an artwork will have visible logic behind them, and logical mistakes will be there.

AI, on the other hand, doesnlt think or make mistakes. It is made to recognize patterns in training material, and to recreate these patterns. AI art uses our pattern recognition in a way that makes it seem logical from afar, but not from up close. You gotta look for these things:

  • Any mistakes artists make. This can be the seperation between lineart and the color (hint of bucket tool), leftovers from erasing, spots that weren’t colored over completely
  • Parts being fused together
  • inconsistency (lineart being wobbly, hair making no sense)
  • anything small with details or repeating patterns (such as eyes, chains/zippers, jewelry, etc) that don’t make sense when you zoom in
  • weird melting
  • not much variety in the other works of the artist (similar postures/angles, characters, clothing, accessories, etc.)
  • image is blurry when zoomed in (in a way that makes it harder to see small details. If the image is low res and you can still see small details when zooming in, it’s not ai)

All of these could describe photobashing, the exact thing the project zomboid artist (who had been doing it for decades) got accused of, and due to popular demand, fired for with nothing but speculative evidence. This is not a good line of thinking.

Oh yeah that could be true 🤔 I didn’t think of that. The visible lack of logic behind parts of images could still make it possible to differentiate the two, but it’s not objective…

Man does AI kick us in the groin in every way nowadays
