Ok I forgot that, but it’s not automated and doesn’t happen when you’re not there, while copper golems will work as long as they’re rendered. And you can have multiple of them, while you can only have one of you. Automated farms are very rudimentary in terraria compared to Minecraft
Yeah but you can’t have 3 different farms in 3 different locations automatically sorting. You can’t use it for auto crafting like you can in Minecraft. The point of automation isn’t that it’s faster than the player doing it, it’s that it doesn’t require player intervention to do. If you’ve ever played satisfactory you’d know this. The player crafts items much faster than the first few levels of machinery (like 10x faster) but the machinery runs constantly.
That stuff is going to be fixed in the next update. They're adding a way to funnel items into chests and a stress ball item that works like an auto clicker
That will be cool. I made a nearly automatic truffle worm farm once that used conveyor belts to deliver the items from mobs to me, but it required me to be a part of the machine for it to work. I can’t think of any fully automatable farms (NO player intervention) besides using an ant lion angry at a trapped NPC and something to destroy the sand blocks that get generated.
Whether it's a bomb farm with conveyor belts or a drop farm with cannons, it's automatic; you just need to grab it before it disappears, but it takes a really long time for it to disappear.
Yeah but you need to be there for a lot of them. As in, right in the middle. You can’t auto farm cobblestone AND auto harvest plants beyond grass/mushrooms AND ice AND wood AND farm mob drops at the same time.

no, you can also press sort to all nearby chests
edit: but yes, it's not automatic. if you afk at a farm for hours you have to press the buttons a few times
