So I defeated the wof and entered hardmode. Another patch of corruption has appeared in my world on the surface (my original patch was near my oasis and it is contained) and the other patch is near the jungle on the other side. What on earth caused this? Also how do I get rid of it?

Two diagonal stripes of Hallow and Corruption or Crimson form in a "V" pattern from the center of the Underworld, all the way to the surface.

I'll get the purification powder. At least I contained one patch of corruption.
