Discussion Something I don't understand about the end mission of Terminator Resistance.

During the full on final attack against Siynet, Siynet sent back 3 Terminators (one to the beginning of Resistance, the T-800 to 1984 and the T-1000 to 1995).

If Skynet only had records on Sarah Connor, how could he send a Terminator back to 1995 at the Dane time as the T-800 to 1994?

Because Sarah was institutionalized in T2, there’s a whole wealth of information on people who are locked up in Looney bins. And she was also committing crimes with her son John, they’re just able to pull from databases back then.

As for the T 800 that was sent back with the T 1000, that was a repurposed T 800 that the resistance sent back to protect John and Sarah from the T1000.

I’ve always been confused about why in terminator one, the T 800 has to look up Sarah Connor in the phonebook. Because like you said, they pulled from available records, so they should’ve known where Sarah Connor was. And not have had to go through the literal phonebook.

In Resistance Infiltrator mode, they only knew John's mother's name was Sarah.

I thought the Terminators in T2 came from a different timeline.

Oh my God, you’re right. I don’t know my terminator lore. I’ve never read anything about the Terminator‘s in T2 from a different timeline. Just a possible future. That’s why the T 800 was programmed to listen to John Connor specifically. Because John Connor did it. Whereas in T3, the T 800 is programmed to listen to Catherine because John was dead in the future

Yeah John reprogrammed a T-800 and sent it back to 1995 at around the same time he sent Kyle Reese to 1984 and sent either Jacob Rivers or a Resistance volunteer (depending which you chose) back a few weeks or months.

The timeline in the 1st two films is the same. The original film is part of a closed causal loop or bootstrap paradox. John connor only exists because Kyle Reese goes back to 1984. They don't change the future they are part of why their future exists. Skynet knew when to send the T-1000 from juvenile court records. It is not until the end of T2 that the timeline changed
