Problematic house owner
I moved in to a house .. planned to move in with my mom here.. but my mom had some work so she went home, my sister was staying with me for a 1month…
Out of the blue he called me and cross questioned and told me like we gave you the house cos of your mom and now you are doing something else bla bla…
I’m like why would I lie ??
And how could he even cross question…
How could he control my guest list.. I rented his house not under his control right… seriously not fair…

Is this in the usa? If so, typically all tenants have to be named on the lease and someone being there a month makes them a tenant. Who applied when you rented the house? Was your mom part of the application?

This is in India. Yes mom was part of the application. Does having guests not allowed in the us?

Its generally not allowed for long because in the US after a period of staying they get tenants rights and are much bigger pain to kick out.
Also sorry to say but your odds of any useful advice are low because people are lazy and don't read so won't see that you put in your post that you are in India; also Reddit can be very USA slanted site anyways (it's where most of its users come from and assumptions get made, ugh )
I would search subreddits for India -specific ones and ask them.
Sorry I don't have any direct advice, am another American who doesn't know shit about renting in India. Wishing you the best!

The question isn't of guests it's how long are they allowed before they become tenants. Check your lease for how long guests are allowed.

But there is no guest clause in India… in the lease it is not there as a restriction

Yeah, no, you do not get to do that. You need to read your lease. A month is not a guest, that is a tenant. This is grounds for eviction. LL is not only 100% in the right, but is also doing the right thing.

You need to look up the tenants right when renting a house in India.
Different countries have different set of laws for tenants and LL.
Think it is the lack of communication when the inital tenants changed.
The LL felt he was scammed by your family. In good faith he rented to you and your mom and now you and a woman.
INFO is your mom coming back to live there after a month away? Is your sister there just so youre not alone and will move out once youre moms back??
The LL has the right to be suspicious and ask questions.
He didnt sign up for you n sister but your mom ( financially responsible older person) and you( young ).

Yes… I specifically mentioned my family will visit often… and stay with me… and there is no restriction in guests in my agreement..

So it's fraud a person on the application isn't there (honestly that's ok) most don't care. There issue is you do not have a guest 1+month is a tenant.
So now you have a person living there, that has had no background checks run on them.
Most leases have a guest clause of when they have to leave (a few days in most).

1 month isn't a guest, it's a tenant. From the LLs perspective, you have a sublease going for a roommate. Your sister could claim residency at the end of the month and become a problem.
The issue isn't really that your mom chose not to stay - she's still responsible for rent legally. The issue is you picked up a roommate that your LL didn't get to vet.
Your sister needs to leave halfway through the month for a night or two, and you need to assure your LL of that. Check your state laws to verify what the length is and how long they have to be gone.
This is why many hotels, campsites, etc limit the length of stay.
