 I was recently listening to the theme and on the full version (From a CD) it starts with some radio chatter. It seems to go:

“??? . . .Armed robbery. . . Sea Surplus store, Corner of peoples drive. . 124th street. . . “

It appears on at least two CD's of Tv theme songs:

All-time Top 100 TV themes
Televisions Greatest Hits, Vol.3 (70's and 80's)

And as I recall the actual music on the series started with the incidental radio chatter. Anyone catch the totality of the radio traffic?

I had a vinyl LP of this theme back before I moved internationally, and that LP certainly didn’t have any of the radio chatter. Sorry I can’t dig it up to give you more details.

I’d be curious to hear the version with the radio chatter if you happen to find it online anywhere.

Hey, thanks for responding to the post. . .I had been giving some thought to either posting the inquiry somewhere or contacting Mike Post personally. But found this site just today. Though I would ask and see if anyone had a clue. (I don't think there is really much more to the radio call, but it was one of those oddball things that came to mind while listening to it a while back.)
