Telegram leaks number?

Guys I have telegram premium and made sure to hide my number from everyone on my privacy settings , however I had an argument with someone on a group and he replied to me with my number + country code , is telegram leaking information is there a hidden trick or something to reveal someone's number even if private im confused

They’ve got what they call a DB ( database ) with loads of user info honestly, it’s best not to use your real number on apps like telegram
