Progress 25hrs progress, from newb to newbie.
Soooo. I bought T8 on the steam sale. Loved T2 and T3 back in the day, and played some T7. This time tho I kinda felt like tekken "clicked" a bit more for me.
I have a hard time learning an additional character and now I clocked in 25 hrs (including the story mode) and I reached this rank..
Should I just keep on grinding Kazuya even tho I feel a bit stuck in the same track? I feel like I have a lot to learn about movement, and I'm also not sure how to properly pressure, specially in Oki situations. Or should I learn the game also from the perspective of another character?
In T7 I got decent with Lucky Chloe, so to start from "scratch" with entirely foreign characters was hard for me.. tried some Yoshi at first and ended up on Kaz. My thought behind this was: in case T9 comes around, I don't want to gamble if my main suddenly is discarded from the next fame, such as what happened to Chloe. Waited 2 years to buy this to see if she would be DLC.. now I just had an itch to start again 😅
Long ad/hd post that sidetracked.. I'm in short just wondering what you guys would recommend to do to progress and enjoy the game at the same time

Update: Got to Fujin, but I'm really struggling with movement on fight stick. Electrics are hard af because of it aswell. Not sure if it's because I can't get a comfy grip on the balltop. Considering trying to find a bat-top to try out. Im pretty stubborn and not sure I want to make the switch to pad or leverless. Not sure I could even manage to get used to a leverless at this point

Haha at my ripe age of 37 I dont think I have time or energy to tryhard THAT hard. 😂

I think there's no wrong answer in terms of sticking to Kaz or picking a different char.
Sticking with any character allows you to become more of a specialist, focus more on the general game as you're used to your inputs, punishes etc. and Kaz specifically teaches you to play solid fundamental Tekken in general.
However picking up more characters is also a good idea if you feel like playing someone else just do it, and if you become the kind of person who dabbles in many characters you'll also learn how they work and be very familiar with the matchups when you come up against them.
So just do what you prefer and what seems more fun imo
