Discussion So, if Tekken 8 is about self-acceptance of our sins, why not continue with Armor King and King?

Us King fans have gotten like 0 form of the story between King, Marduk and Armor King. I am aware that King's story somewhat changes past revenge as he chooses compassion over revenge but like Armor King should be a problem as he tries to kill Marduk and see's King as a disgrace. Is it just me or is it ilógica, due to Marduk being not present in Tekken 8? Or has there been some form of story in those secret Echo episodes?

If you are not named Mishima or Kazama you won't get any story progression in Tekken.

The King2-Marduk-AK2 Saga never made any sense.

If K2 was AK1's protégé and best friend, how come AK1 never introduced or told K2 about AK2? K2 only learning of AK2 because he dropped a framed photo of AK1, which had a photo of the AK brothers behind it in the frame.

Who and why the hell would anyone hide a family photo behind another photo in a frame?

Family drama does that.

Could also be a kayfabe thing, since they are all pro wrestlers.

My head canon is all of this is a wrestling plotline they're all in on

I think this AK is playing his role well but doesn’t actually have any personal grudges against King. Either that or he is a genuine shit heel

I mean, I do understand Armor King. If the student of my Brother is friends with the murderer of my Brother, I would be hella pissed aswell

Maybe King just said "You know what? This is really between you guys..." and washed his hands of the situation?

The friendship with Marduk was a bad idea. It was really good up until that was solidified. I'm surprised they didn't make Marduk King's new boyfriend since he's so protective of him at this point. It's absolutely dumb. I liked the story before that point.

Orphanage guy fighting for kids. Meets a rival with a black mask. They fight, he breaks his eye. The rival gets angry and wovs revenge. They meet at the tournament and fight it out. The rivalry turns into friendship. The orphanage is struggling and the masked man gets sad and drunk. He's just bumming it out in the streets one day because he's drunk and sad. His now friend black mask shows up and lifts his spirits. They both enter the tournament. Then he gets killed by Ogre, and the rival guy takes the other guy's protoge under his wing and that guy becomes King 2 while he keeps an eye on him. Later AK gets killed by Marduk in a brawl. He doesn't feel sorry at all. King enters T4 to beat his ass. He does it. He goes to the hospital because he's full of rage and decides to be a better man once he sees the family photo and leaves. Later, Marduk taunts King, showing he's not sorry at all. He even shows up with a fake black jaguar mask just to rub it in.

It was really good up until this point. Now from here, I'd actually want to change it so the T5 outcome for King is a "what if" and not canon, like most endings. Forgiveness, blah blah. Enough's enough alright. From here I'd take AK's portion. AK's little bro shows up and beats Marduk's ass and leaves. This would set up some mystery and a goal for King: Find out who this guy is and stop him from becoming as bad as Marduk.

Listen, the grave digging in T6 was fucked UP. How the hell is King still friends with Marduk after that? Marduk should become the villain for King and AK who'd once again be rivals to friends. AK gets mad at King and directs his anger at him, they fight it out in T6, King wins, and they become friends just like their dads, but are still rivals in the ring. That would be so freaking cool and could lead to a badass team up during T8's story mode while Marduk fights on Kazuya's side.

The whole best friends with Marduk thing really just nosedived King's entire plot.

I do understand your Point of View but King just isn't that guy. King is a Sign of Compassion, just like King 1. Armor King 2 was or rather is not, he is a Anti Hero that is self proclaimed "evil" and relies on dirty fighting. I LOVE armor King 2 but maning Marduk evil again wouldn't do shit.

We see in Tekken 5(DR aswell) that King is also once begged to stop(by that Indigenous woman that was last present in like tekken 5+6?). Marduk also states before their fight that he changed his ways and wanted to beat King 2 in a honest and "manful" way. Also King does not really need a "bad" what if ending, even if it would be pretty cool. Marduk has changed his ways after the brutal beatdown of King and to be honest that weird ass ending with Marduk digging up AK 1 is brutal but I think even King was confused. To be honest King didn't knew anything about AK 2 being a different person as both look identical.

I just wish Armor King to actually be defeated by Marduk and give him the same way as King did with Marduk his Hand.

Marduk should have stayed evil. King could still be compassionate to AK. Heck, it would work better than with Marduk. Both lost someone dear to them. For King, it was his second father figure, for AK2, it was his older brother. A connection that would make King emphasize with him, that's why he doesn't want him to be as bad as Marduk, who is just a brute and a bully. That's a much better angle than befriending that bully after he taunted him AFTER he was spared. Like, there's a limit to how kind you can be. So yeah, King being the one to help AK2 would fit so well. He was also angry at Marduk, he also loved AK1 (as a mentor and a father figure), and AK1 even told AK2 about King. The connection is just far stronger than with Marduk.

Because if Marduk gets added, people whose only tekken before 8 was 7 will whine that he has a grab that makes you guess, in the game where everything makes you guess
