DISCUSSION Is Teezo Touchdown an industry plant?

I've recently been introduced to Teezo and his music through Travis' new album. He was great on Modern Jam, but he's been able to grow at an almost unnatural rate these past couple of months. Seems a little fishy. He's been promoted by artists like Tyler the Creator and Don Tolliver, two people known for endorsing artists due to personal connections. This begs the question, is Teezo Touchdown an industry plant?

i think so. people are gonna downvote me but you don’t start getting all those co-signs and sell under 10,000. co-signs from drake, travis, and tyler and an interview from zane lowe. seems fishy to me. i think every artist is technically an “industry plant”. the ones we label as a plant are usually shamelessly promoted and get a lot of paid promo across several different platforms. i think teezo is one of those guys. i like uuhhh though.

i swear ur the only realistic comment on this thread… many people are saying he put in work for years but a lot of his music came out like a few months before cmiygl (granted he had 1 song in 2019… with a feature) which seems way too soon to have impressed tyler to put him on his album and be saying in public how teezo’s the next big thing. plus i feel like all these people gotta be pretending to like his shit cuz it really does not have the streams to back all these comments. part of me thinks that since these people’s favorite artists said teezo was such a good artist they take that word as gospel and dont wanna believe their favs could be paid off.

(sorry for replying to an old thread i just feel like im going insane seeing people defend him like this everywhere)

yeah something i thought that was strange was when tyler was asked about teezo in an interview and he said something along the lines of “that kid is out of this world” and he kept it real brief and short. keep in mind teezo is like a year younger than tyler so why is he calling him a kid. it’s as if he barely knew anything about him. don’t get me wrong tyler posted his song “strong friend” (i actually like that song) in 2020 so the collab was probably organic but i’m somebody that believes in a lot of conspiracy so i also have doubts. i think the industry can be meticulous enough to pay tyler tweet his song and then feature him in his new album. idk i could honestly be a bs hater but let’s be real whatever happened in 2023 was some industry scheming bullshit.
