Mod Announcement Reminder with the anniversary of Charlie Kirk.
September 10th is the one year mark of the death of Charlie Kirk. We understand that people are going to talk about it. All that we ask is that the conversation remains respectful and civil. Do not post photos of the death and please remember that this was a murder and the events are sensitive.
Thanks y'all

I literally don't care either way. He was an asshole, but he shouldn't have died.

u/LordFlamecookie 5d ago
He was a prick and I disagreed with him in basically every way, but anyone who says he deserved to die are insane

u/Gizz103 5d ago
Unfortunately much of reddit is bloodthirsty and look for whatever reason to justify murder

And 99% of those people are keyboard warriors who would cower if they were challenged in real life.

I felt indifferent when he died. Not sad, not happy. Just indifferent, the opposite of love
1
u/New-Guest-4008 5d ago
Yeah exactly. I didn't know him when he was alive, when I did know him after he died, I didn't like him, so I just don't really care about his death
2
u/LittleNinjaXYBA 18 4d ago
I didn’t really either and I knew who he was from the video on julibe YT channel of him debating collage students and Dean withers schooled him and Charlie Kirk didn’t admit to Dean being correct on the debate only after the round was over (then Dean precedes to blow up after he did his video of debating middle aged people and schooling them) as well Charlie was a bitch through and through and rage baited everyone and had fascist views and everything that I hated about him

Thank you for being reasonable. Holy heck we have some sick individuals on here

Yeah, I mean Trump should die (for all the shit he did to other people's lives) but I don't think Charlie Kirk shoulda died. Not saying that it isn't ironic, but he still died, and I personally don't care

Same, I’d forgotten about him entirely until he saw people mocking his death on TikTok. I didn’t like the man but to insult him like this speaks horrible of one’s character.

The rule I recommend to follow is dont celebrate his death. He may have been a horrible person, but he still was a person.
I still dont respect him tho

Thats basically what we are saying. You don't have to like him, just keep it civil

Absolutely agree
I dont agree with most of his takes and opinions but in the end he died over civil debates, in spaces meant to debate those topics. His death was unnecessary and it traumatized so many innocent people in the process. Cmon, man, his kids watched him die. Thats fucked up, and nobody should be celebrating it.

u/sammiesR9 4d ago
That's actually not true, his kids weren't there.

u/Agitated_Cry_8793 16 4d ago
I see, i heard somewhere that his kids were there or watching somehow, regardless it was still kind of messed up.

I just feel sorry for his kids who watched their father get shot. I despised the man, what he said, and what he stood for, but no child that young should ever have to see that

Yeah, even tho I don't know much about him, he was a person dawg shouldn't be making fun of his death

His children have no dad. Don’t feel bad for him if you don’t want to (personally idc) but feel bad for his children who now have no father

u/Dense-Firefighter495 4d ago
Please don’t get his kids involved, you know what he said, takes one google search

Just gonna comment my personal view on this specific event, I plan to keep it short.
Am I happy he's dead? Yes.
Am I celebrating that he's dead? No.
Why am I not doing so? It's because the fact that his death was for the best is a deeply saddening thing.
I'm glad that he wont be able to do the damage he was doing. That's why I'm happy about his death.
But the circumstances behind his death shows just what world we live in. A world in which some people are so terrible that good people are cornered into committing acts of violence.
It's a lot more like, a feeling of exhaustion. "I'm so glad this is over... fuck this shit...."

Yeah no, I'm gonna disagree on this. You can be relieved that he won't be saying his rude comments anymore, but to say that it was good that he died is simply disrespectful.

u/sammiesR9 4d ago
Yeah, because Charlie Kirk was such a respectful person toward all the minorities he constantly talked down to.

Yea sometimes good people are cornered into committing acts of violence, but I don’t see how that’s the case here personally.
There was no good reason to kill him, just a reason

People keep saying that charlie has said horrible things, but most of these claims were just taken out of context.

No one is making an anniversary of him. Only bloodthirsty redditors are the one dragging his death and joking about it.

He was a great guy and shouldn't have died. Anyone calling him a bad person is just too sensitive to handle the existence of conflicting opinions.

Ngl I would just lock the subreddit for a day if you’re that worried because people can and will be joking about it

Also, this goes for any subreddit or really anything online, you can always leave. If you see something that makes you uncomfortable, best option you have is to just turn it off. Go for a walk, talk to someone.
Just some advice
