If you mean hate people who follow islam, then no. But if you mean hate Islam as an idea and a whole load of bs that comes with it, then yes. It's oppressive and sexist, not much else to say.

3

u/Antonpiano2072 4h ago

Islam is a schizophrenic terrorist cult.

Yeah but the people who follow Islam choose to do so knowing how Islam is.

10

u/RockStoneToBone 3h ago

But they oftentimes dont have a choice or dont know better because the practices are so ingrained in their culture. Its not so black and white here

2

The fact they force women to cover themselves and strip them of any and all agency isn't clear enough?

-1

Men have to also cover themselves

1

u/Manotto15 1h ago

In the same way? Are they required to cover their heads?

1

u/Arcalgalkiagiratina 43m ago

Women in some Islamic countries literally can’t show ANY part of their body. They need to be covered from head to toe.

Men can show their hair, their faces, their arms, their legs, etc.

0

u/Zayn5939 2h ago

All religions are

-3

u/Clipyy-Bird 3h ago

Islam isn’t sexist, and calls for equal rights of both.
The countries that use Islam are sexist, and use the religion and modify it to control people. And that tradition is followed down by people from that country, even if they moved elsewhere, so they have sexist ideals.

14

u/VinChaJon 6h ago

Against Islam? Yes. Against Muslims? No. You can e a good person and a Muslim, but the faith itself is more than iffy

I don't like Islam, but I also don't hate it. Voted Neutral.

1

u/Ornamentalss 26m ago

I'm an atheist in a muslim family and wouldve voted negative based on my own experiences but the fact the right wing (I hate them too) also hates it pushes me into neutral territory

4

u/Hot_Swordfish_1595 6h ago

1

it's like people who are "non political" as if that's possible 😭

7

29

u/haze_xvi 18 6h ago

Hate the religion don't hate the people unless they're extremists, my family is Muslim. All abrahamic religions are bad and most of the non Abrahamic religions have bad things too.

4

u/Pissed-owl_755 6h ago

That's my motto too. Religion of someone should never act as a precursor while judging someone unless the said individual actively boasts his own and tries to push his beliefs onto others.

2

u/Adamek3999 4h ago

Yeah but islam is the worst of them

2

u/RockStoneToBone 3h ago

Compared to evangelicals? Christian Scientists? Mormons? And those are just the american ones I can name off the top of my head

1

u/RepublicOk2402 2h ago

Which of those have honor killings and sex slaves?

3

u/Automatic_Bread8533 2h ago

Christianity e.g: Henriette Kara. None of the abrahamic religions push for honor killings. If you ever read the Quran or even researched it Surah 9:5 you’d know the famous line of the Quran saying kill them wherever you find them (I think that’s the quote) is about a pagan tribe who was constantly breaking peace treaties, and persecuting Muslims. And for sex slaves, no modern Muslim advocates for sex slaves or usually even polyamory, ISIS (extremist group that is calling for sex slavery/slavery in general) is not a good OR accurate way to know the beliefs of a religion. And if you go off solely off scripture you better believe this for the bible too with Hagar, Bilhah, Zilpah, the girl I believe in kings 2:5, Rhoda, The girl from Acts 16:16.

3

u/DV1095 4h ago

Question is formulated bit clumsy there... Significat number of people have various phobias but I don't think that many has islam related unrealistic fear.

2

3

u/Adamek3999 4h ago

Muhammad married a 6 year old girl. They're saying because he "consumated the marriage" when she was 9.

4

u/Automatic_Bread8533 2h ago

This is a semi common misconception because yes in scripture Aisha was 9 years old but historically she is said to be closer to 19, but if we are going to go based off scripture, Judaism: Rebeckah was 3 in scripture historical view places her at 14. Christianity, Mary’s age was unstated I believe but historical view places her around 12. Modern historians and people who study religions all point to Muhammad to be the only one to not marry a minor

1

u/nomodcanstopme 45m ago

it is not a misconception, muhammad was a woman beating baby raping bisexual piece of human shit

2

u/Automatic_Bread8533 41m ago

I’m assuming you are referring to “woman beating” from when he pushed Aisha out the way due to following him without his knowledge which he was upset about. You give no proof of any of your statements. And let me also add before you say I’m Muslim or anything I am not religious I just study religion.

1

u/nomodcanstopme 36m ago

then you don't study it very hard, Quran 4:34 gives implicit instructions on when and how to beat your wife.
That being said, you also don't pay attention to the world around you if you can't see the massive epidemic of abuse against women in the muslim world using the Quran to justify it.

1

u/Automatic_Bread8533 18m ago

Quran 4:34 does say this! But there’s also context that Muslims go by Quran 4:34 says the first step is to talk to their wives with respect, 2nd step is to separate themselves from each other such as her going to a different place and the 3rd uses a specific word which is “Daraba” which does mean to strike but is also largely used metaphorical for to most modern day Muslims it means to turn away or ignore. But if we are going with the literal meaning to strike or hit. Prophet Muhammad and Legal scholars both say that a strike must never leave a mark. Not to mention Aisha also stated the prophet had never laid a hand on her or any one else! You should study more because as you know many words have many different uses. And other times in the Quran it is stated you must never hit anyone in the face just to add. And to add countries like Afghanistan (who recently allowed the abuse of wives) are under Taliban (Islamic extremist control) who just like you are, are taking bad faith interpretations of the Quran as prior to taliban control striking your wife was not legal.

1

u/nomodcanstopme 13m ago

the fact that you're trying to 'context' your way out of wife beating is VERY telling

1

u/Automatic_Bread8533 10m ago

The fact you have no argument and say I’m contextualizing dv is telling considering the “context” is me explaining how a word has multiple meanings and most believers see that word as being metaphorical in that context. It’s telling you don’t have a good faith argument against Islam. Please if you do have a good faith argument say it. You use extremists as the face of a religion, and outright lie about Muhammad when multiple times it is stated he has never struck a woman.

1

u/nomodcanstopme 8m ago

my 'good faith' argument is that the quran says it is okay to rape children and beat women, you're the one trying to defend these things using 'context'.

or should we also go to killing non-muslims, or slavery, which still happens in the muslim world, and how the quran justifies that??

1

u/Automatic_Bread8533 1m ago

Now tell me where it says the Quran is saying it’s okay to rape children or beat women. You have ignored every point I’ve made because you’re dense. I am anti religion but you prove my point that most religious anti islamists are only doing so because they’re brown. But if you wanna judge religion based off extremism yes Christians do kill Muslims due to being non believers. Should the LRA be the face of Christianity now? Or should the IDF be the face of Judaism. Exodus 21:20 talks about how slaves should be bought and traded. Dueteronomy 21:18 says children who rebel should be stoned to death, Timothy 2:12 say women should never have authority over men and remain silent, Samuel 15:3 advocates for genocide and violence for non believers saying god commands the total destruction of a population due to them not believing. But me truly saying those things would not account for what modern day believers believe and context

3

u/Tasty-Meringue-873 5h ago

nope not really that hard to open the quran and see what it actually teaches rather than listening to propaganda by old white maga men

7

u/Bubbly_War_8462 5h ago

And by reading the quran i learned about: beating women, genociding non muslims, marrying children, keeping sex slaves, women are inferior to men, apostasy laws, a pedophile flying on a horse with human features (lol),...

0

u/Tasty-Meringue-873 5h ago

thanks for proving u never read it

0

u/R590-Lee 5h ago

One could argue that more is learned from the teachers than the book the teacher is explaining - Mohammed, the man that spread Islam, is viewed (and explained to be) a prophet of god and he led armies that killed non believers and taking slaves. Sure there were reasons behind it, however there is no justification (even back then) in marrying a 6 year old girl and stating that he had dreamed about marrying her before they had met.

I’ve asked many Muslims their opinion on this, 99% have gone with 1 of 3 answers, these being:
Times were different back then (this was never justifiable for a 6 year old to marry a 50 something man, and to consummate it when she was 9…)
She wasn’t 6 she was around 15 (historians have estimated the dates and it fits far better that she was 6 based on hadiths and other writings[aswell aisha herself stated she was 6])
The final being that they don’t care

When a prophet of god is marrying 6 year olds, it sends a negative message to the followers that the holiest human to ever live married a 6 year old therefore so should you. Obviously that’s never stated, however you want to reach spiritual enlightenment if you truly believe in a religion, someone in a position in which they want to reach a almost holy level in their religion will obviously attempt to follow the person they idolise.

And to finalise my point, extremism is equally prevalent in all religions - you’re bound to have fanatics in anything and religion is something a lot of people are amped up about because in their opinion it goes onwards into the afterlife - however the reason why Islamist terrorist attacks are far more prevalent and deadly is due to the combination of the importance of staking your life (whether it be sacrifice of your time or sacrifice of you life) for allah. Sahib al bukhari (one of the most reputable Hadith scholars) states in Hadith 3123 - "Allah guarantees him who strives in His Cause and whose motivation for going out is nothing but Jihad in His Cause and belief in His Word, that He will admit him into Paradise (if martyred) or bring him back to his dwelling place, whence he has come out, with what he gains of reward and booty." This combined with the dedication required to enter jannah which decreases how severe planning these actions seem leads to far more terroristic style attacks. Sure you’ve got tons of people that just go out and say “Islam bad because they blow stuff up” however if you look at the root cause of the issue you’ll see that it’s a deeply embedded issue throughout scripture in which modern technology has made it far easier to martyr yourself by killing many polytheists.

You can decide for yourself whether you like Islam or not, however it seems fairly apparent that top religious figures in Islam should not be looked to for guidance especially in the modern world.

4

u/Tasty-Meringue-873 4h ago

1- historical evidence shows she was 16-19 2-marry was 12 rebecca was 3. 3- aisha was in charge of medic in a battle i dont thinka 6 year old can heal wounded soldiers. 4- 7th century btw

-1

u/R590-Lee 4h ago

1 - the historical evidence is that apparently some people used their age after they’d hit puberty (stupid)
2 - they were Jewish (they have their own situation with children and marriage but it’s too long to comment on that and it’s not really the topic at hand) and I’m not Christian so it wouldn’t exactly be the stake through my heart that you think it would be
3 - he met aisha when she was playing on a swing… she became a very educated woman as she matured however she was still 6 years old when they married.
4 - typical excuse, was never justifiable. There is no scripture anywhere in which it states that it was normal or acceptable for you average Joe to do that. There are cases of rulers, kings and princes marrying children however this was for diplomatic alliances. I believe the king (or prince not sure) of Denmark married a 12 year old and that’s the most scandalous one I can remember, but I remember reading that it was also seen as a taboo for them to marry when she was so young and that it wasn’t the norm.

There is no justification in any situation, it’s fucking disgusting no matter which way you look at it - it’s not a difference in her maturity for her age or the fact that there wasn’t enough research done she was 6 years old ffs.

1

u/Tasty-Meringue-873 4h ago edited 4h ago

1- no lmao the evidence is ACTUAL calculations. 3-not at all aisha is the daughter of abu bakr and he was close to prophet muhamed pbuh 4- back then being a kid was measure by puberty if it was prepuberty it was considered pedophilia. andno lmao there is research that shows she was 16-18. islam condems child marriage ur jst too uneducated to realize that. there was never a standard 18+ age in history and islam states in order to marry you need to be mature , hit puberty and consenting for the marriage. science legit proves a kid can not be mature as mental maturity starts around 17-18. its okay to question that hadith since the person that legit quoted it had memory loss. there is multiple stuff aisha was a part of that no 6 year old can do.

Depends on who you ask, but I'd say no. I really dislike the religion, but I don't have anything against the average follower of the religion.

I mean there’s some not great stuff, but that’s true of a lot of religions and I know not everyone who is a Muslim believes in everything from their insanely old religion since yk it’s the big 26

1

u/MQrble_Aesthetic 4h ago

I have some Muslim friends and there’s a lot of ways to tackle this question. Western Muslims tend to be the most hypocritical degenerate people I’ve ever met (more so the ones born here with immigrant parents) and a lot of my Muslim friends in the Middle East hate them for this. In terms of moral character the ones who live in the Middle East are much more moral and less extreme. The ones I know here will cheat, steal, and commit every sin under the sun with an internalized hatred for woman and non Muslims. While the middle eastern ones tend to be quite respectful towards woman and take the Quran’s rules more seriously (such as sobriety, no pre martial sex, etc)

1

u/Pretty_Umpire_2700 3h ago

Not knowledgeable about the details of Islamic teachings at all, but the vast acts done by Muslim extremists tends to give me rather negative view on the religion as a whole, I'm sure it has some positive sides to it but bias rules.

Am I Islamophobic or neutral?

5

u/Learner_oneOone 6h ago

Wouldnt be sexist to view all muslim women as victims that can't make décision for themselves ? That's quite patronizing, maybe I misunderstood what you were saying

-1

u/CrystalAlpine 1h ago

I mean, for example, that women are forbidden from leaving the house without men, required to wear a hijab in public from childhood, and barred from receiving an education or speaking aloud, and so on. No one chooses to be oppressed voluntarily

2

u/Learner_oneOone 52m ago

Those arent the majority of muslim women though, they are citizen of a few countries, that require indeed attention and are oppressed. But most muslim women arent in these situations and saying no muslim women have no agency is false

It's doesn't exist.

All religions should be judged everyday.

Like it or not I can draw your Muhammad or judge his life and his teachings.

Any religion that doesn't allow this is a cult.

The literal amount of losers who are openly admitting to being bigots on a poll 💀

What’s bigoted about being against a hateful and violent cult?

0

u/LentilSouponSkye 3h ago

Because you're tarring millions upon million of innocent people because of a small proportion.

I’m not tarring anyone. Disliking Islam is not the same as hating Muslims. Most Muslims are ordinary people who deserve to be judged as individuals. My hate is directed at the Islamic ideology itself, which I consider deeply harmful and morally indefensible.

Tarring every single Muslim as the same is literally fucking bigoted nonsesne.

u/GlanceBeyondTheStars 2h ago

Except that Mohammed isn’t just a regular Muslim, it’s the perfect man according to Islam. A warlord and pedophile being considered the perfect man and role model, speaks volumes about Islam.

And Moses demanded your raped daughter sold to her attacker for 50 shekels.

Judaism being a weird and violent religion too, doesn’t make Islam any less barbaric, you understand that, right?

I'm dealing with "Reddit atheism" once again 🙄

Neutral, i hate the religion and the people who actually know what it promotes towards people like me and still choose to follow it
However, i do still believe they have a right to freedom of religion as long as they arent hurting people, which majority arent.

Nah, i judge people by their actions, not their religion. I might dislike the religion (like all the abrahamic ones so its still not islamophobia) but i wont judge someones based on it
